Yes, it's brilliant. The only frustration is when someone you want in a Group doesn't have it. I have family groups to plan for Christmas, holidays, care, visits, various friend groups to stay in touch and arrange meet-ups. We even have a directors group at work to all stay in touch on various matters.

Brilliant, BRILLIANT app.

End-to-end encryption so avoids the spying state, free and easy to use, uses wifi when it can, can make calls to friends who have it anywhere in the world for free, faster than text, pictures for free, groups for parties, nights out, teams, community groups, can see when someone is there (or not if you prefer to go anonymous yourself), not yet restricted or beset by ads by its global corporate owner. All great.
One downside is that some people in one of my community groups overshare minutiae which can be annoying.

I use it more than any other messaging service. Obviously it's particularly useful for keeping in touch with UK friends and family. I use FB Messenger too, but I've gone off it since they started adding pointless extra features which I will never use, and can't be hidden.
Kinky Gerbils does keep sending me pictures of a black guy with a massive cock on WhatsApp. I now know what he spends his time doing on the internet.

And you thank me every time

Thanks to both Arthur and Buzzer who attempted to bring me into 2017 by WhatsApp-ing me...

...on Wednesday...

...which I've only just seen.

Great app.
I recommend turning off auto download of videos though.
This both saves your data, and if like me you have a friend who allegedly works in sales but apparently spends the entire day trawling the web for ever more disturbing pornographic video, your sanity.
