Hull City plan to replace season tickets with a membership scheme. The Championship club claim the new system could see some supporters save as much as £282.
Hull will give fans the choice of three different levels of membership, with the cheapest costing £21 a month.

"The membership scheme is about rewarding the supporters for their fundamental part in this remarkable story and ensuring that, wherever the team start their new campaign, the club and the fans will be doing it together."

If the Tigers, currently fourth in the second tier, reach the Premier League this season then some supporters will pay £13 per match next season, while remaining in the Football League will lower that figure to £11 per game.

Thoughts?

Interesting idea, not exactly sure how something like that is financially viable mind, seems like a car crash waiting to happen.

Anyone care to suggest this business model to Paul Barber by email?

On the Border
Same seat or pot luck when on sale date.

Seems likely to have more admin costs to the club as need to ensure all DDs for membership are current and still need to sell a ticket each time.

Will it also allow for movements in match price due to category of game so £21 per month the £11 for cat C , £13 for cat B and £15 for cat A

Seems a lot of fuss to replace something that works well.

Part of it seems to be about shifting everyone out of the second tier they've got to downstairs - presumable saves on operational costs in lower attended matches?

And people wanting halfway line seats will be shelling out £51 per month before they've bought their matchday tickets.

Bargaintastic.

Doesn't seem to mention anywhere that you keep the same seat for each game?

Also, doesn't allow any concessions, everyone pays the same regardless of age. So a lot of youngsters will no doubt be paying more.

I don't think it does.

I think you will find the membership does include the ticket. How an earth would the majority make savings if this wasn't the case.

All they are doing is removing concessionary prices and then everyone in each area pays for what is effectively a season ticket with the cost spread over the year.

"The change will mean a large number of fans will have to move from existing seats to new locations to take advantage of the savings.
Anyone who wishes to remain could be hit by a higher price under the new zoning.
The closing of the Upper Stand will see almost 1,800 fans moved.
If City are promoted, the stand would be used to provide seats for match-day tickets at high-profile games.
However, it could also eventually be used for away fans."

It would seem that they are completely closing their West Upper tier, seems strange.

Actually you're right drew.

12 months of £21 works out at £10.95 a game which fits their blurb.

I was confused by the 'individual ticket pricing to follow' bit.
