Nottingham Forest seem to have spent shed loads this summer. Not sure how that fits in with FFP as they made a £12 million loss in the last set of accounts that were released and aren't in receipt of parachute payments.

Like Cardiff last year - their gamble paid off, if Premier League status is the only goal.

Forest fans are getting over excited. Rumour going around they will be getting Charlie Austin for 4m. Good strike force with them getting Mackie the other day.

Nottingham Forest sign striker Jamie Mackie from QPR in three-year deal #SSN

Don't know the price but potentially good signing IMO

An honest trier - which made him look good by comparison to some of his QPR teammates last season, admittedly - but nothing special.

A lot of bewilderment as to Nottingham Forest and there excessive spending.

For those not in the know it seems they have found a loophole. They are now sponsored by one of the chairmans other companies.

It's not unreasonable to guess that a lot of other teams are finding loopholes. Would you bet against Tony's accountants being able to find any less obvious ones?

Forest being the big spenders 5m so far. Maybe you could add Watford if they had to buy their players by normal means.
Middlesbrough buying Albert Adomah (Bristol City, £1m) has surprised me thought the nigels were after him.

Forest and QPR the clear big-spenders/FFP ignorers - Kelvin Wilson returning for £2.5m is another big one for Forest, a fair amount more than they had tried to lure Wes Morgan back for earlier in the summer. Don't think their fans will be expecting anything less than an auto-promotion challenge this season. Pressure's on for Billy Davies.

Adomah to Middlesbrough slipped under the radar - actually quite an ambitious signing for them considering they'd been resorting to plucking talent mostly from the lower leagues for the past couple of years. Similar type of player to Carayol, is Albert, but just much better.

You're missing two players in for t'Albion

Oh and Charlie Austin is an OUT for Burnley.

Other than that, very good indeed.

He's taken it from another forum, not his own work.

Perhaps I can copy and paste a journalist article and you can give me praise?

That. How on earth have they (Milwall) signed Nicky Bailey?

Bailey, Chaplow and Trotter will be as good as ANY midfield in the league.

Millwall are doing good business

ALL you b@stards beat me to it. Millwall - WOW. Anyone got their odds for promotion? They'll be in the play-off hunt at least I would imagine.

Very interesting and a lot of those moves had completely passed me by.

Bolton, Millwall, Watford and Wigan all seem to have done especially well so far and I actually think Birmingham have made some good moves considering their low budget.

Birmingham seem finally to be refreshing their squad and have a got a bit of money in to boot, I like Clark, I think they're an outside tip for the play-offs. Wigan seem to be confidently signing people, and QPR, thing with them is that they still have loads of very good players - Loic Remy in the championship? ( no, he'll surely go, but there are others)

Millwall probably just replacing Trotter, otherwise they could be very good.

#Funnyoldgame

I really don't understand the patience people have with Clark. I think he's hopeless and wouldn't be surprised to see Brum struggle this season.

Depends who QPR lose between now and the 31st but I think they will be going for Shit or Bust, so expect them to start the season lively, hopefully after a few wet winter games at some of the poorer grounds in this league some of the players will lose interest.

I currently cant see past Reading for taking top spot and I'm sure Wigan will enter the Playoff fold, Coyle took Burnley up previously although didnt do too great last season with Bolton so who knows.

I would imagine the table will look fairly similar to last season but I see a bottom six of Yeovil, Doncaster, Blackpool, Birmingham, Bournemouth and Hudds.

Pretty damn close.

Agree with Munkfish that Blackpool could also struggle. I have a feeling that Yeovil might just exceed expectations though. Barnsley look to have bought well and are still active in the market. Flitcroft has impressed thus far. I think Hudds will be fine.

But no further.

Debatable after today, I'd say.(with regard to Bournemouth signing good players)

Ahh well. We can't all be Munkfish
