Agree with the OP. How much time and money have UK police forces pissed away investigating stuff like Madeline McCann's disappearance and Princess Diana's death. I suspect it's largely due to the colonialist mentality that other countries' police forces are entirely made up from straw-chewing bumpkins.

In defence of the Police Force, if they weren't gallivanting around the World investigating these things they might have to patrol the streets of their own country assisting people and preventing crime. Be fair where would you rather be ... sunning yourself in the Med or nicking local criminals?

A British citizen has died in unexplained circumstances abroad. There will be an inquest, as with any other British person who dies unexpectedly abroad.

Somebody has to look into that, and it's not going to be the coroner's office, is it?

Besides. If there is any suggestion an individual might be involved with extremists, would you want that left to the Syrian government to investigate, and this identify any other leads or threats to the UK resulting from it? Or would you prefer the UK authorities to look into it?

What a ridiculous argument

The Med?? It's SYRIA, FFS. You particularly keen to pop over there?

I did mean apart from his family...
He is one of Britains allies then, if fighting as a jihadi in Syria.
By saying he is one of Britain's allies you're mistakenly referring to him in the present tense, since Hes now brown bread you should of course be stating that he WAS one of Britain's allies, either way its a nonsensical statement, and good riddance in my opinion.

The lad was a known criminal in Brighton and was regularly being arrested. I think the investigation will be too see what ties the family now have between what's happen in Syria and the rest of his family.
And since the UK don't actually support the uprising ..... He is what he is.... A tit that thought he was a whole lot bigger and stronger than he was. This is nothing new, speak to many one who served in Afghan, Brit and American Muslim freedom fights getting killed.

Absolutely this! This tit fancied himself as local gangster and was out daily, robbing, damaging property and generally acting billy big bollox. He swanned off to go and play with the bigger boys and came unstuck, there won't be many of the people whose lives he blighted losing any sleep, with luck the rest of his scummy brothers might book a flight out there.

The father has just been on the local news and confirmed the brothers are there (one had been shot in the stomach in the same battle his brother died). The Father said he was proud of his martyr son, the father didn't seem to be too distressed, maybe he was in shock? All very sad.

Maybe his father should do one over there as well or be arrested as a possible terrorist

Did he say how many brothers, or how old they are?
