Interesting on cricinfo:

"This is a critical innings for Moeen," declares Mark. "Run out by his skipper when looking good last time out, he has more and more people on his case saying that his batting is simply not good enough to keep out a specialist spinner. 1x100 and 2x50 is not a lot for a front-line bat in 9 Tests."

Frontline bat? There's not a test team in the world that wouldn't take 1 ton and 2 fifties every 9 tests from their No. 8 bat!

Some teams would take less than that, make them their captain and build the future of the side around them!

Bugger. Buttler out with last ball of the day

Still, from 30/4 after an hour to 354/7 is pretty decent.

Huge wicket for New Zealand that, just about keeps them in the match.

Had Buttler and Ali opened tomorrow and England stuck on another 100 runs then 450 on the board and NZ batting last puts England firmly in the driving seat.

At least Broad knows he'll be in from the start and facing a newish ball, so can prepare himself.

Surely Wood, fresh from a 60-odd in his county game in the week, should bat ahead of the woefully out of form Broad?

So, lets have your predictions for the remainder of the England innings this morning then.

I'm going for 401 all out about half an hour before lunch.

Seven left handers ? Must be a record.

There seem to be loads of left-handers around at the moment: Australia have plenty too and Sussex have six lefties out of the 14 players they've used this year. It didn't used to be like this: it was normal to have one or two in a team.

And it doesn't seem to happen lower down either. At my kids club, there are about 24/25 kids in the two teams I help coach and only one left-hander among them. Why so many in professional ranks?

Not sure I can see our tail end doing much against their rested bowling attack with a fairly new cherry in their hand. 392 all out (which will be a fantastic effort from 30-4).
