Sky are a bunch of twats. Not only do they basically ignore League One & Two sides in the TV schedule, they give this money that would go a long way for a small club to a team paying players £30k a week that have just signed ONE player for FIVE MILLION pounds. Not to mention the fact they gave it to Forest last time just after they'd been given a transfer embargo because of the amount of cash they were spanking.

Should be for L1 & 2 clubs only.

£250K is hardly likely to make a big difference to Derby County! Anyway, didn't we win this (or something similar) a few years ago? That went well, didn't it........

......cough...CKR

This with fecking bells on.

Then again, it's the Murdoch Empire. Money should always go to money.

Derby County winning it ? Sums it up.

Can't be bitter, Jam the Man won us the money for CKR when we really really needed it. 250k in the Championship in the modern era is petty cash

Yeah I have often felt that the timing of our win was the most important thing.

It could be spent on player(s), wages, or stadium improvements.... CKR cost £55k, plus wages, so I suspect the rest went into the Falmer pot, as the club was on it's knees at the time financially.

...and I agree that this should currently be for L1 & L2 clubs only nowadays.

Think the sponsors might have a rethink after this.
Worst possible club in publicity terms after their recent cash splurge - I wouldn't be at all surprised if the eminently sensible suggestion that it should be limited to League 1 and below is adopted in future

They can't win though can they?! Limit it to L1 & L2 clubs and then a Wigan or Wolves win it with massive parachute payments!

You'll never please everybody but agree it's a bit of a farce Derby winning it!

And the grief he got from some fans was astonishing.
You seem to be writing that in a surprised tone?

With our knobend support, I'd be more surprised if something that clearly warranted 100% support got more than 75% praise, 15% silence and 11% booing.
