Meanwhile, Uwe's old team, SC Paderborn have just been relegated to the fourth tier of German football, which is essentially semi-professional. Hadn't they only just been relegated from the Bundesliga when we signed him?

No, you were just hoping it would happen to justify your earlier comment wrongly assuming he wouldn't play. Playing up to your "Captain Hindsight" user title.

What? HOPING that he was injured?! Who the **** are you?
Obviously got me all worked out in the huge length of time you've been here.

Did he come through his last game in Germany injury free

Happening right now.
I'm watching (and obviously hoping he gets a career-ending injury or a violent red card with a carry-over suspension because that would make me look big and clever)

It felt all a bit surreal watching a German league match on Bet365 to see a player who we have signed for next season when the championship season still has a week to go

BUT. Have we really singed him, or just promised to? In other words, can he be pinched by someone else swooping in? (It all seems too easy for us)
