I can see the whole psychological factor in this, such as confronting your fears, realising that much like ridicule it's nothing to be scared of, etc, but I do hope you didn't actually have to buy these items?

Only I call that wasting good brass on $hite that you're never going to use.

As I wandered the aisles of Tesco last night, it dawned on me that I NEVER visit the tinned fruit section. I don't think I've ever had tinned fruit in my house, although it was always there at my Mum's. It probably still is...

Am I missing much? Is it worth swinging past next week to take a look?

Which bit do you give the swerve to?

Quiet news day Bozza??!!

I make an annual visit to the tinned fruit section as a tin of tropical fruit mix is apparently an essential ingredient of our family's Christmas trifle.

I steer clear of the feminine hygiene aisle and my days in the baby section are long behind me.

That's my childhood right there. Tinned peaches (in syrup, not fruit juice), pears, pineapple rings, mandarin segments and even strawberries.

I wonder if this was priming me for a life of cider drinking?
Don't start. Apples make cider. None of your other ingredients do.

Obviously I don't shop in 'Tesco' (apart from the petrol pumps; my local Sainsbury doesn't stock car juice).

In store, like you, 'OP', I swing past the tinned fruit (in fact, tinned anything, apart from sardines and anchovies, and sometimes white crab meat). I also eschew the dog food. I'll end there, with that 'open goal' for the funster punsters. :lolol:

Whenever shopping in our local Sainsbury's, I make a point of avoiding one of the tills, as one of the female cashiers has a gob like the proverbial town cried, no matter where you are in the store, you can hear her.
No need for a tannoy system!

Sorry the barcode isn't working..."CAN SOMEONE GIVE ME A PRICE FOR THIS GENTLEMAN ON DUREX EXTRA STRONG AND SENSITIVE LUBE?!"

Yeah I can see that could be a tad awkward. [emoji23]

The checkouts, I steal everything

Slightly OT but I was in Aldi London Rd today and the security stopped a chap at the till who was going to pay for a 1pt carton of milk and asked him about the stuff in his oldies trolley. This was full of fresh meat and tinned stuff etc. They just confiscated it all and escorted him off the premises.

This thread is USELESS without a poll.

Dog/cat food. It tastes DISGUSTING.

Magazine aisle. There's no ammo there - lying ********.

Cakes. (I absolve Mrs T of this one - apparenly always in the cake aisle...)

Haberdashery (Mrs T apparently lives there, but I don't).

What a ridiculous thread :clap2::bowdown::rock::kiss:
