Going to be fine margins, then - your predictions are very similar to mine (apart from the Wales getting spanked part).

Scores after Germany v Italy (Maximum points = 40)

One to play and all ties very close.

Match G: Simster (34) 39* hans kraay fan club (12) 22
Match H: Frankie (19) 29 Dirty Dave (6) 32*
Match I: Brighton Bear (24) 32* Seaber (6) 31
Match J: Theatre of Trees (0) 23* Nathan (2) 22*

* = joker played
bold = qualifying for next round

In the event of a tie:
I will be using a system of countback where I will go through each of your individual scores in the Quarter-Finals. If you score more than your opponent in any of the categories then you get a point.
Example (HT, FT, 1st G, Y, R):
A (0,0,1,4,2)
B (2,0,0,0,2)
= 2-1 to A.

Call it the equivalent of a penalty shot out.

If it is still a tie after using all the Quarter-Final matches then I go back to the last Second Round match played, currently England v Iceland, and continue going back one match at a time until I get a winner.

SEMI-FINALS
Match K - Winner Match G v Winner Match J
Match L - Winner Match H v Winner Match I

Little query on those scores please...

Mine, I think should be 13:
Correct score HT = 2
Correct result FT = 2
Correct result AET = 3
No RC = 2
Correct result of pens = 4

And on Simster 's score - it's also not right. You've scored him full 6 marks for correct score AET, when he never gave an AET prediction!

I'll have a fresh look at it tomorrow, I've been up since 5am so my brain is like mush at the moment.

I think the inference is clear - I did give a pens score FFS

Okay, decision time.

Amended score: Simster (28) 33* hans kraay fan club (13) 23

For Simster I've taken 1-1 as the 90 minute score. In theory as he has no prediction for 120 minutes I should remove the 6 points for correct score, however, because penalties have been predicted therefore the inference was the match would finish as a draw I've awarded 3 points for correct result instead.

Basically, everyone needs to remember to add the square brackets for the 90 minute score if predicting extra time.

That sounds exactly right. He put down a pens score, as he says, so fair enough to have the points for 'a draw'.

Cheers

You're still almost nailed on Sim. I need to make up 11 points, and our predictions for the last game are basically the same. I'd need to nail the goal time.

It will certainly be a challenge for me to get through now! I am 1 point ahead of Seaber and he is playing his joker on this final match.

Our predictions are the same except for the goal time. My main hope is that there is a red card in the match and France aren't leading at half-time or full time and the ref doesn't issue exactly four yellow cards.

It would help if Iceland scored the opening goal on 30 minutes.

Seaber has already played his joker in the Wales v Belgium game I just forgot to add the asterisk last night.

Your predictions are exactly the same as each other except for the first goal scored, quite simply if that first goal is scored between the 8th and 21st minute you will go out, if it is scored between the 3rd and 7th minute then it will be down to the tiebreaker, anything outside those times and you are through.

Looks like we will end up on the same score now, regardless of what happens in the second half of this match.

We both started well but faded quickly, looks like i was a bit lucky in getting through to the next round. Will see this as a wake up call and will need to have a good think for my predictions for the Semi-Finals.
