Totally different scenario, as he hasn't played for us this season, and has been sold, therefore only playing for two different clubs in one season.

Not really. Murray hasn't played for Bournemouth either. It's irrelevant anyway as neither us of Murray would agree to the termination (and Murray doesn't fit in with Bournemouth anymore than he did at the start of the season).

Murray has only played for us this season so it has nothing to do with that.

The simple fact is there is no recall clause in the loan deal for Murray to join us, this would have been agreed by all parties before the loan deal was signed. In the JFC case we would have agreed with Rotherham that there was a recall clause and the loan deal could be broken by any party during the January transfer window.

One had a recall clause and one didn't?

The perceived knowledge on here seems to be you can't recall season long loans full stop? Do we know for a fact there is a no recall clause for Murray then?

Yes. Paul Barber was very clear on that in an interview 4 or 5 weeks ago. No recall.

No. They can't recall at all.

Got that in before @DrNo appeared.

More to the point will we sign him permenantly during January?

I suspect that we are financially better off with him as a loanee in the short term. I think he then has another year on contract with Bournemouth. It will be interesting to see how much they will want for him at the end of the season (or if CH would want him if we get promoted) - Bournemouth might even want him back if they get relegated.

You can recall a season long loan, but the recall clause has to be agreed at the start of the loan period and the recall can only take place during the January window. Both Paul Barber and Eddie Howe have stated that there is no recall clause in the Murray loan contract.

Eddie Howe said in a press conference in Decmeber that they could not recall him. Pretty sure Bloom covered it in the Bristol city fans question session as well. The recall options are put in mainly for younger players where parent clubs will call them back if they progress sufficiently for first team action.
