I've had the electric blanket fired up the last few nights, and I was slightly disappointed to find the heating hadn't kicked into action this morning.
I might have to turn the thermostat down a few notches.

27 degrees today, so no heating on.
There have been a couple of days when I haven't put the A/C on though
(I realise this will come back to bite me when it's -20C in a couple of months)

Don't knock it unless you've tried it.
Not yet. Indoors it hasn't got below 19C so far, even when it's miserably cold for late Aug/early Sept outside.

Maybe engaging in a bit more conversation, asking how her day has been and the like would temper that kind of criticism.

We have only just put the duvet back on the bed, and still sleep only partially under the thing.
The heating may come on in November/December time
22nd Sept, just turned the central heating on.
