The "It's Far Too f***ing Hot To Sleep" Thread

Jesus!! How hot is it? I know you'll all hate me for this, but I'd rather we were having a usual British summer right now. I simply can't handle it. Bad enough during the day, but there's no chance I'm gonna sleep in this heat. Anyone else suffering?

I was awake at 4 this morning and I have only dozed on & off since. Despite having a fan running in the bedroom too.

I like the heat but the humidity is awful. Those of you who are on the coast are lucky at least you have an on shore breeze to cool you a little.

Its very muggy at night but worth it for these days of beautiful weather.

Had a very nice day down the beach today.The sea didn't even feel that cold.

For some years I've had a ceiling fan, the type you see in some pubs. I have no trouble sleeping whatsoever.

Get one. You'll never regret it. About £30 upwards. :cool:

I agree - ceiling fans are ace. I stayed somewhere in the southern United States a while ago, and as it had no air conditioning thought I'd never sleep. But a huge wooden ceiling fan above the bed did the trick. I wish I had one in every room.

If you can't sleep, something that never fails to work for me is beating off with a wet towel.

The beauty of it is you can wipe your face with it afterwards as well.

You are priceless. :lol:

Well I for one am hacked off with this summer. Despite the Weather being 'great' the outdoor activity I've partaken in has included;

1. S Africa V England : Friday of the test rained off.
2. Weeks holiday in June : Rained 7 out of 9 days.
3. Corporate golf day in May : Rained on the 5th stopped on the 17th.

And I cant F**kin sleep in the humidity either.
