We don't need 40pts. 38 will be enough. I agree that we won't do it easily so this 2pts difference is significant. 7pts from next 7 games would be OK.

Why? 8 points from the next 7 games would be OK - more than a point a game, and it would keep us on track for survival. Any more than that would be a welcome bonus.

Historically, most newly-promoted teams find it a bit more difficult in the second half of the season - last season Burnley had 23 after 19 games and finished with 40 from 38.
If a team has 23 or more from 19 games, one point a game for the rest of the season SHOULD ensure survival.
