It’s Brexit mate. I told you this would happen.

It isn't. You didn't. Now f... off!

ISIS.

Has to be those monkeys again.

They did say the black flag will fly over Buckingham Palace.

They've started with GT49s laptop.

Well, at least that's a more likely explanation than some pillock claiming it's because of Brexit! Now please (in the nicest possible way) f... off and leave this thread clear for someone with some useful knowledge who might be able to help!

:lolol:

Best option - stop using Internet Explorer, and use something like Chrome or Firefox.
If you don't want to / can't swap to a better browser, empty the cache for IE (reload after clearing the cache)

Thanks for that. That sounds like it might be serious advice - so how do I empty the cache?.....and what do I reload and how? (if I knew anything about these things I'd have probably tried it, you see).

DONT empty the cash. I just emptied mine and now my black rectangle looks like this, worse than before

I was having issues with videos a month or two back. Turned out I had a seriously outdated browser (it had been on automatic update but that was somehow switched off so I had missed a whole bunch of updates), when I updated the browser, my video issue was sorted.

How? My laptop regularly does an update when I close it - how would I go about doing it manually?

Bit better, its moving now at least. Do you know how to get rid of the little blue square at the bottom? It's putting me right off

Hmmm... THAT looks nasty.

Do you have a FTTP network service? If so, you may be experiencing variation delay on your network transmission, which creates a horizontal blanking interval on your screen.

I hope GT49er doesn’t experience that.

Depends on the browser. I use Firefox and it is on the 'about firefox' screen. That used to be on the Help menu for me but is now on the firefox menu (on the bar across the top where you get 'file' 'edit' 'view' etc.)

I’ve been doing some research and can confirm it’s from watching too much porn. Best to give it a rest GT49er

Sometimes NSC restores my faith in human nature. Occasionally though, a half-baked idiot ruins the illusion. How's your RSI?

https://www.lifewire.com/how-to-clear-the-cache-in-internet-explorer-2624707 is one of many pages on the InterWeb that tells you how to do it...
Thanks - a sensible answer amongst all the pathetic stuff - unfortunately it didn't work. I still just get the black rectangles, and after clearing the cache the system wouldn't accept any of my passwords, and outlook rejected all incoming e-mails with password reminders on them - I've only just managed to get back on to NSC.

I think I'll just live with the fault for now, and maybe bounce this thread when all the Sunday afternoon drunks have p...ed off. Thanks for your help anyway.

I think that some of the ‘Sunday afternoon drunks’ have played an invaluably helpful role by keeping this thread near the top of the main board.
