High up on the South Downs.
Ferret has just described John Robinson, born Bulawayo and brought up in Newhaven, as an ardent Welshman. Can I decide to become an ardent Moldovan or an ardent Estonian?
Did Robbo have any Welsh links before he opted to play for them?

John Robinson is Welsh through and through. Just like many other great Welsh internationals of the past, such as Vinnie Jones, Pat Van Den Hauwe, George Berry, Eric Young, Jeremy Goss, etc.....

:lolol: :p :lolol:

There's no such thing as a big Welshman.

As far as I know, the rules were that if you were born in Rhodesia when it was (officially) a British Colony - albeit one that had illegally declared independence - you had the choice of which of the home countries you played for.

It's also possible to qualify through residence, provided you haven't played for any other nation.

Therefore Wales can have Robbo.

And England can have Cudicini playing in goal - which WOULD be a good idea.

Correct I think, LB, Robinson has no links to Wales whatsoever as far as I know. Other than the fact he played for us 30 times!
