He said "Far too early". We live in a bullshit world of instant judgement and too many people who want to make themselves heard by going to extremes rather than having a balanced, considered, and oh dear.. boring view.

It's shirley possible to form a working judgement on a player earlydoors, based on watching what your seeing. Things like first touch, runs into space, desire to fight for every ball. Doesn't often need half a season to reach a conclusion on these things that combine to form an overall impression of a player. IMHO like.

Good luck in finding much support for that theory!

Well I guess there may have been a very ambivalent mentality for this game, but ultimately I’m sure we would have wanted to win more than lose.

Nope. I’m away and was out of a signal area for the entire game.

I’m hoping for some sort of sign that Locadia is not just a Premier League Elvis Manu.

I’m willing to give Ali J a little more time before I consign him to the same dustbin.

Gallagher, Redmond and Austin looked quite good. Only Bissouma for us, although Groß and Bernardo (CB) stood out in an evening with nothing much to cheer me up, least of all Coastway West.

Locadia did not resort to persistent fouling. Bruno was missed most of all. Our right hand side was weak, Kayal did OK but he was never a goal threat. So we have Bissouma, Groß, and Kayal all playing OK competing for the same position.

Jury very much out on Jahanbakhsh? He was closed down very quickly by three players.

I disagree as I thought that Gross was poor and looked lost playing in that position.

There's obviously a difference between a working judgement and a judgement. Most of the time though it's stated as a fact, "He is rubbish", rather than, "He's been disappointing so far". I could understand it from a youngster but you'd hope the rest of us would have learnt from previous hasty judgements.

Two big money signings with points to prove.

I wasn't there, so please let me know: which one took their chance to impress, and give Hughton a selection headache for Saturday?

The Tottenham lad looks quite lively.

The only selection problem is to who should be dropped to accommodate both Bissouma and Gross. My selection would be to drop March and add Gross to last weeks starting XI, . as Gross often moves out wide especially if Bissouma is covering the centre.

Bissouma
Gross
Knockaert
March
Propper
Stephens

Pick 5; not sure I would drop March.

From those five I would if for nothing else he is the least consistent

I believe that March is the least effective of that 5 both attacking and defending but very slightly better defending.. We are at home and must attack Fulham as this is 1 game we expect 3 points from.

Agree he is the least effective but he is also the only specialist left winger.
Think Bissouma will start on the bench with the team the same as Man Utd.

Been thinking if we managed to hire 'natural leaders' recently. Ryan, yes, Gross, partly, the rest? hmmm...early days I know for some. For me, the main leaders are still the 'old' guys: Murray, Bruno, Stephens, Dunk, Duffy [Knocky sometimes]. I think we need [or needed] to hire another couple of new ones. If we're lucky, Andone may be...but he needs to be in the Mitrovic mould to displace Murray [IMHO]. For me, Jose, Propper and Ali are less likely to be, but I still think Locadia has a chance to be - he needs a run in the team with a workable formation, to say yes or no: I thought he might be the 'angry boy' we need, but he's not showing it enough, or we've coached it out of him. Bissouma though...for a young lad he's showing great promise in the 'leadership' department. It's a long season, so good luck to all of them.

Think you’ll add Balogun to the list of leaders before too long.

I don't think I'd move this teams most potent attacking threat and Murray goal provider in order to accommodate Bissouma.

I can't think why :jester:
