Still we can get over to Somalia and find some more mo Farrah's ...there must be hundreds of them.

A Scots Yes vote will be more likely because of Brexit and Brexiters tend not to be very keen on the Mo Farrahs of this world coming here so I can't see that happening. Perhaps rugby is the answer.

Very possibly.

With growing levels of Euro-scepticism in Scotland, the independence and EU membership combo may be looking less attractive to many...

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/201...andons-bid-remain-eu-poll-shows-record-level/

A major survey released on Wednesday also shows that two thirds of Scots either want Britain to leave the EU or for the bloc to have reduced powers.

The Scottish Conservatives said the SNP’s plans had “unravelled within 24 hours” in “total confusion”.

Theresa May rubbed salt in the wound by telling the Commons that on her visits to Brussels she “did not detect any support” for an independent Scotland being allowed to join the EU.

Sturgeon seems to think that everyone who voted SNP in the last general election is a dyed-in-the-wool nationalist AND pro-Europe. If the Brexit vote has taught us anything it's that EU membership crosses all other party lines.

And there's more...

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/201...la-sturgeon-57-per-cent-scottish-voters-back/

Nicola Sturgeon’s referendum plans rapidly unraveled last night after it emerged she is to abandon the SNP’s policy of rejoining the EU immediately amid record Euroscepticism in Scotland.

Senior Nationalist sources told The Daily Telegraph that Ms Sturgeon would instead try to join the European Free Trade Association (EFTA), whose members include Norway and Iceland.

A poll by YouGov for the Times newspaper has revealed 57 per cent of Scottish voters currently back staying in the UK, its highest level for two and a half years.

The dramatic 14-point gap indicates that enthusiasm for independence side has declined since the last referendum, where 55 per cent backed remaining the union to 45 per cent who voted in favour of leaving.

What makes you think Brexiteers have anything against "Mo Farah" types?. What part of controlled immigration do you not understand. I expect your example is a shrouded pop of labeling 17m as racists. Perhaps listen and look at the reasons 17m voted out.
Even UKIP policy stated CONTROLLED immigration.

It's because people like him find it easier to jump from the position of Brexit voters wanting to be independent from the EU to them being racist scum. That's easier for him, rather than having the intelligence to realise that lots of people made a reasoned decision based on the undemocratic structure of the EU, uncontrolled immigration and the eventual goal of a European State. It's the same people who cannot see the incredible harm being inflicted on many southern EURO countries by EURO in it's current structure.

For him, probably supporting freedom of speech is OK, as long as you agree with him. Otherwise you must be a thick racist.

Not surprised by this.

Most sane people think that Brexit is going to deliver all sorts of problems and disbenefits to the UK - at least in the short and medium-term. Would be a very big call in this context for the sweaties to be unpersuaded by a "stronger together" argument.

Eh? If there are impending perceived 'problems and disbenefits' surely that should be fuel to the independence fire? In which case, the increased support for staying in the UK is counter-intuitive?

Not from my angle. The inevitable Brexit disbenefits also affect Scotland even if they go independent.

In a time of turmoil then "stronger together" is a natural instinct.

Shit if we stay, deeper shit if we leave? #projectfear2
All about opinion rather than facts. Common sense to me. Rather than depth of shit imagery a more useful metaphor would be something to do with freezing water, a struggling but not sinking ship, life boats and making a swim for it on your own...

Brighton - In your face
'Project fear' was one led by the Leave side. We're yet to fully see the dire consequences of leaving. Being Billions worse off so far is maybe just the start - we'll see. Scottish referendum has f-all to do with fear. They overwhelmingly voted to remain so they're planning to leave us to our own doing. Fair enough. It's a shame Brighton and London can't join them.

Here
3 things:

1. Let the Scots have their referendum but it really only makes sense for this to be AFTER the Brexit negotiations have been concluded (and the terms of severance from the UK have been finalised - see 3 below) so that the Scots can make a decision about whether to stay in the UK/EU with a clear understanding of the consequences of their vote.
2. The vote should be, as the Brexit vote was, open to all Scots wherever they are domiciled rather than only to those resident in Scotland.
3. The terms of severance from the UK should be negotiated in the same way the terms of severance from the EU are to be negotiated.

Hmm, so these predictions were from Leave (these were predictions fo:
1. Emergency budget of £30bln.
2. Immediate raising of interest rates.
3. Reduced economic activity/recession.
4. Crash in house prices.
5. Job losses.

I'll omit the WW3/NATO threats as so frigging ludicrous that only an idiot would believe (but that didn't stop a lot of Remain idiots saying though).

And, what'e happened?
1. Er no.
2. Er no, rates were cut (albeit that was a wrong decision).
3. Er no. All stats since the results have exceeded predictions.
4. Er no (which is a shame as this would benefit a lot of younger people).
5. Er no - jobless % is at it's lowest in over 40 YEARS.

So, you want to talk about PROJECT FEAR. Right.

Oh dear, not notice the crash in the Pound? Not notice our import prices going up? Not noticed inflation on the rise and the stagnation of wage increases due to all the uncertainty? All this will get worse too since May appointed the three morons, who for varying reasons, are unfit to govern let alone lead complex negotiations.

We have no Plan A and no Plan B other than to hope everything works out in our favour.

Where's that £350m gone too?
