The whole POINT of a transfer is that the buying team offer an amount which you simply cannot resist for that asset.

£20m, when we are a prem team, is not irresistible for our best player when teams can demand £15m for a player in the Championship.

Hmm... If Mahrez is rumoured to be leaving Leicester for £30M, can we really expect £20M for Knockaert?

OK, Serious question, if we were offered 30 Million would it not be worth selling him? We could get two pretty fantastic players for 15 million each. Knocky is good but 30 million would be very tempting. 15 to 20 mill would probably land us Thomas Cairney.....

So we sell a winger and use those funds toward a different position we already need recruiting in?

The transfer fee for Cairney would already not be a problem for us (I personally think he's worth it), it will be the fact Fulham have the best chance of promotion through playoffs and has interest from many other clubs.

Knocky is a fantastic winger who tracks back with a team mentality and love for our club. Not easy to find, so let's not seek to replace one of our strongest assets.

It's a gamble, 20mill is a lot to Albion. If he ends up bombing in the Premier League he'll not be worth 20mill next season.

But we will have a great player under a 3 year contract. We know the talent is there.

Again, he is our asset. You don't sell your assets unless you need to/you simply cant resist the offer.

Because he's been offered a lot more money.

The go-to response. The thing is, he probably wouldn't be offered "alot more", unless Everton mean to play him consistently.

How many bench warmers do Everton currently have on 100k or more? Genuine question.

I was about to ask why Everton need Knockaert as they have Bolasie, but a quick google search told me why.

And if I am not mistaken, didn't Everton pay £30M for Yannick Bolasie? Would stand to be corrected on that, but that goes to show the value of Knocky if that was the case...

£15m was the value of a bang average attacking player in the PL about a year ago, with you having to look at £30m for a decent looking one. The market has continued to go batshit mental for the last 12 months, meaning that a brilliant Championship level player, yet untested at PL level, should go for £35m+:)

I wouldn't mind if he was crock for the first month of the season because if he gets off to a flyer and a big bid comes in at the end of the window it might be tough to turn down
If he gets off to a flyer, he'll definitely not be going anywhere.
Although scroll forward 12 months and the bids won't be for 'just' £20m or from a 'best of the rest' side.

Palace will be next to show their interest... Just watch!
palace better wait until they know which division they'll be in next season.
