The day after the game, I was drinking with two of my football team-mates who know the Southampton squad fairly well (these lads are both coaches in the Saints Foundation) and they didn't believe me until I showed them on my phone. They reckon he is one of the nicest guys you could hope to meet.

I was discussing the game at some length this morning, with a Saints fan at work. Our agreed summary was that the only exciting spell of the game was the 20 minutes after Murray's goal - probably the only spell when either team was REALLY trying to force the issue.

The first half was pedestrian, and for the last 15 minutes you felt both teams were happy enough with a point.
