Unlikely to happen in pro-football, but happens in park football all the time.

As others have said, once the ball goes out of play, inform the ref that keepers are being swapped and change over. No worries.

Providing the ref is informed of the change, and the change takes place during a stoppage in play, any player can swap positions with the goalkeeper. There would obviously have to be changes of shirts for the two players involved at the same time.

I guess you could get a situation where you have already used all 3 subs and the keeper hurts his hand/arm but is otherwise OK. You then need to put an outfield player in goal and can either take the keeper off and go down to 10 men or keep him on as an outfield player for nuisance value

Say you had a keeper which was really good in any given position outfield and an outfield player who was decent in goal but was a bit knackered are you allowed to swap them over? Obviously we have seen outfield players go in goal if necessary but never really goalies go outfield (except that Columbian Hugita but thats not the same thing)

Is an onfield swap allowed like we used to in the park? If so wonder if its happened

Never played Sunday league have you? Happens all the time.

No reason why not. Anyone can play anywhere. The main stipulation is that one of you players MUST be a goalkeeper.
Cool, so you can have five goalkeepers if you like? It would be pretty handy if all your defenders could use their hands.

Indeed, though generally for the opposite reason to the above - i.e. you've no subs and an outfield player gets injured / plain knackered, so goes in goal, rather than going down to 10!

Maybe that was what the handbags at Luton in the JPT was about when those two clashed.

You think Kuipers would EVER accept the blame for something like that? :lolol:

You've now created a scenario in my head where Virgo is in goal, and Kuipers is playing up front. In both instances, 'carnage' is the first word that springs to mind. 'Common assault' is the phrase coming close behind. Just a field of half-dead players returning to the foetal position scattered across the Withdean pitch, blood slowly seeping down the hill under the railway tunnel. In the distance, a lady weeps...

We had a game in London not sure if it was Charlton or Millwall and only had 12 players not suffering with illness in the days of 1 sub so Brian Pownet started in goal with Tony Burns on the bench, The plan was that in the event of an injury to an outfield player Burns would go in goal and Powney would play up front as he was apparently quite good at inside right.

Could there be something in this?
