If it isn't, he is paying the interest on it and he is getting the "benefit" of it in the form of shares when he converts loans into equity. Shares that are worth tuppence ha'penny

See above.

I would think that the person who recommended that to TB has paid with their job.

Maybe but I could have told you that COG was never going to worth 15k a week at the time he signed. He had one reasonable season in a team that got relegated. In fact most of NSC was very underwhelmed when we signed Ulloa's replacement. ( although the club denied he was, he plainly was). TB is where the buck stops, but blame can be diverted by sacking people I accept.

He needs to make sure that he employs people who do understand how to build a Championship squad now he has taken the task away from the manager. TB failed with the last appointment but everyone else gets the blame.

Unless that's the going rate for a journeyman in the Championship.

Same as the going rate appears to be 200K a week for the likes of Raheem Stirling.

Unless you get very very lucky and sign an undiscovered gem from somewhere obscure, you either pay the going rate or you slowly but surely sink down the leagues.

This coming season will be very interesting. Sell Dunk and replace him on the cheap and we're more than a little bit stuffed. Cos it was the respectable lack of goals conceded that was all that saved us from League One this time around. Plus Dunk scored WAY more than his fair share of goals at the other end, which was just ridiculous.

TB has given my club a home, I can see all mates from years gone by bringing the their kids to the Amex the next generation of the Albion faithful. Are people really that desperate for PL league football? just enjoy what we have instead of worrying what we could have.
Blah blah passion blah blah ambition blah blah 'premier league ready' blah.

Or at least I'm sure that's what some will think, I actually agree with you. PL would be nice but my support isn't reliant on the constant pursuit of it.

I find that very hard to believe, but you could of course be right. If that is the case and I were Bloom I'd be looking at an exit strategy.

Average Championship salary is £486,000 a year in 2013/14. The relaxation of FFP rules will increase that over the next year or two. The Albion had the 8th highest wage bill in the division from what I can recall, so likely to be paying slightly over that.

It's a lot of money, but not compared to the Premier League, where it's £2,273,000 a year.

It appears to be that Tom. You may remember Jonathan Stead, who we tried to sign from Bristol City three years ago, but he was on £12,000 a week at Bristol City so we said no. He's good for about 5-9 goals a season, but has earned a lot of money out of the game, not that I begrudge him any.

Ouch!

Seems to me that if we're not prepared to pay the going rate to remain competitive then we need to bust a gut to keep the proven performers we already have, sorry had (Murray, Barnes, Ulloa). Players like those don't grow on trees and a gut should be busted to retain them. IMHO, like. almost certaqinly WAY cheaper to pay them what they're worth than to try and source like-for-like replacements.

I completely agree with the OP.

The Board are really secretive and i doubt they can be trusted.
The sooner I get some serious middle eastern investment into my club, the happier id be.

I for one need my club in the Premier League and it's clear Tony's lack of ambition is holding my club back.

Agree entirely with you in respect of Murray and Barnes. Don't think we had a chance with Ulloa. A £10 million fee was too much to turn down, and Leicester will be paying him far more than he was on with us.................and he wanted to go too to see if could make in the Premier League. It's a shame we've not used the money wisely. Baldock and O'Grady have cost the club £2.5 million in transfer fees and about the same in wages

Brighton / Hove actually
I've always supported Bloom. However what do we really know? We know from our past and the stories at other football clubs like Blackpool that it doesn't take much for an owner / board to become rotten and destroy a football club.

In all honesty it's a bit of an insult to refer to Bloom and Royston in the same sentence.

Will the matchday programme include a glimpse from his porn stash entitled "watching briefs" ?

Finally we'd also be able to ditch the flying rats.

Great post this.

A lot of relentlessly negative Albion fans, are denying themselves a fair bit of enjoyment at the moment.

He might be the front for, or part of, a syndicate. Which involves none of what you suggest.

It a syndicate that no one has heard of and there's no evidence that it exists has put £210 million into the Albion interest free, and then converted a third of that sum into worthless shares they're okay by me.

Either TB is either a daft as fu*k SUPERFAN who is happy to piss £200 million up the wall on the Albion else there's something WAY deeper going on. Either way, who wouldn't go along for the ride on a TB-subsidised ST and see where the journey ends ?
