I thought that when I first saw the picture of Hemed in the Argus, however if you click on the article you'll find Dan Burn sprawling on the ground by Hemed's feet. The headline cuts the picture in half.

That picture wonderfully sets up our expectations of Dan Burn. A "defender" with nothing to offer. Bizarre and unnecessary signing, the man is no better than Gary Hobson or Ross Johnson were.

That Dan Burn is close to a comeback from injury? He came on as a sub for Wigan a couple of games ago (and scored an own goal and conceded a clumsy penalty).

I regularly work in the North and I've seen a bit of Wigan in the last couple of seasons. It's safe to say that Burn has not stood out as a player who could step up.
I really am at a loss to explain the transfer and if you ask Wigan fans, they'll be scratching their heads too. It's obvious what they get out of this, but it's anyone guess what we get and I refuse to believe it's purely got the HGP quota. You still need to have quality, as well as being home grown.
