Alonso is only there for the money, McLaren pay him an absolute fortune. He doesn't care, they don't seem to either, match made in heaven.

sauber are based in Switzerland, Ferrari in Italy.

Ferrari are based at Maranello in Italy. Most other teams based in the UK

Not really. The team can trace its history back through Tyrrell to BAR to Honda then Braun before being bought by Mercedes. So all of the factory, staff and skills are based here so not strange that they would stay based in the UK

I have a couple of mates that were involved in F1 in the 90s with BAR, extremely well paid and a great lifestyle. One of them even ended up helping with the wheel changes. I was jealous.
