Nice little preview here of the three climbs on the worlds circuit on Sunday. They do the circuit 16 times. I've no clue who could win this year.

Dunno Stat, could a private runway for the farmer. Apparently along the A24 a farmer has a runway in he's field. So I'm told.

The podcast chaps are heavily behind Mathews.
When interviewing him during the Tour Mathews was saying the only reason he was still riding (even though he couldn't walk) was as prep for the Worlds.
Also Nib's has apparently been racing really well on the Italian one day circuit.

Yeah, on current form and parcours suitability then Bling, along with Kristoff and the German porn star are the biggest favourites I suppose.
Good to hear that about Nibs because that offers up a different scenario than a sprint, even a massively reduced one.
I'm really looking forward to it. Sagan wearing the rainbow jersey for a year would certainly get it noticed! Poor bloke, if he is in the mix, would probably end up finishing 2nd though as he tows everyone else to the line.

I recorded the last 20kms whilst watching the rugby.

Just watched it back and what a ride! :clap:

Loved the fake blowing up immediately before she attacked on that final hill. Then played it perfectly when the attack didn't stick. Tatical perfection from Lizzie there.

Interesting to see that Owain Doull says the course isn't that hard. He was only caught out by mechanicals on the last lap. Looking at that Women's race I can see what he means. I think it will take a lot for a break to survive tomorrow. Maybe Stybar or Terpstra as a real outsider can stay away from a late attack and survive, but I'm tempted to back Bouhanni as my outsider. Distance and none of the climbs here are a problem for him. Looks very good for any of the lumpy proper sprinters though.

I'm not so sure about an out and out sprinter making the fj al selection.
Was it this years Amstel where they extended the course too far beyond the final climb, and even then the sprinters didn't get back.

If a few Belgiumists et al make a move on the cli.b 4kms out, that 10% ramp up will do for the sprinters.

It looked quite Aardennesy to me.
I was won over with the Mathews talk but I'll not be discounting GVA or Gilbert.

It ought to be a cracking final couple of circuits, most elite riders must be thinking 'I can win this one'.

You may or may not remember that probably this time last year I was asking for advice on a CX bike, I was basically after something that was carbon, had disc brakes and had mudguard eyelets. Well fast forward 12 months and I've ended up buying a frame and the components.

For the frame I've gone for a Boardman CXR 9.8 which ticks the 3 requirements I had above. Now I have 2 queries about putting it together:
> Installing the headset. It seems a special tool is required that costs £50+, should I just get my LBS to do it? I did actually purchase the frame from them (but online).
> The BB. The frame is Pressfit 30. The groupset is Shimano Ultegra (Di2 hydraulic) and comes with a BSA BB. I've bought the following adapters. Should I be able to put that together myself or again would special tools be required? The groupset and adapters haven't arrived yet so haven't been able to have a look. Can you please remind of the budget we were given and how that compares with your spend.
My gut reaction is Ultegra Di2 is a long way from what we had to work with. :smile:

Haha. To clarify, the budget got thrown out of the window and I've ordered pretty much everything. The parts started to arrive on Friday, which so far includes the frame (and fork), the wheels (skimped a little here, compared to rest of the build, on some Kinesis Crosslite CX disc) and the handlebars.

I'm now after some advice on how to go about putting it all together!

Since I'd decided to go with the disc option I thought I should really go hydraulic, and there didn't appear to be any bargain options available, so the Di2 actually seemed like ok value for money as I bought as a complete set from some German company.

The thing that has been giving me nightmares recently is the wheel/tyre options. The wheelset I've gone for is clincher but is tubeless compatible, so am going to give tubeless a go for the CX tyre. Not sure about the road tyre...
