No... we are NOT going to enter the season with only 2 keepers and 3 CB's, and I will be surprised if we don't also sing a winger...

I know this is going against the grain for the drill for new players / rumours but here's a picture of Bissouma with his Mum who , even with my O level french, it appears he loves very much.

“We continue to invest in the future while not forgetting the present.” The words of Lille CEO Marc Ingla when they presented Yves Bissouma with a new contract, keeping the Malian international midfielder at the northern club until 2021.
It’s a huge vote of confidence for the 20-year-old who only started five games in Ligue 1 this season; but it’s not misplaced.
Following the same path led by Idrissa Gueye and Adama Traore before him, Bissouma has emerged as the next African prospect to progress into the first-team, but now, with Gerard Lopez’s takeover giving les Dogues a stronger base, it may come just at the right time and the club have a chance to keep him for a long time, unlike the other two.
Bissouma’s quick, sharp movements have made a great impact in the middle of the park. The JMG Bamako graduate is not afraid to have a pop from distance, best demonstrated against Angers when he found the top corner from over 30 yards out. He burst inside from the left, beat two defenders and unleashed an unstoppable shot with his right foot.
Everything that Bissouma does seems to be at 100 miles per hour, and there is a reckless nature, but it’s exciting and dynamic and gets you on your feet.
Once in possession, the Malian midfielder just wants to make things happen. Running at defenders, pushing the ball forward, he is a real force of nature and one that takes some stopping.
Bissouma is raw and you can see the rough edges to his game, but with the right guidance, especially from someone as adept as Marcelo Bielsa at bringing the best out of people, it could be the making of the young man.

The Argentine coach likes to play either 4-2-3-1 when faced with two opposition forwards, or his standard 3-3-1-3. Bissouma has the energy, somewhat like Gianelli Imbula gave him at Marseille, to cover as a two, but also flourish with more bodies around him.
In early 2016, when Mali finished second at the Africa Nations Championship, coach Djibril Drame picked out Bissouma for special praise after they surprised everyone by knocking out the Ivory Coast.
He explained that he was a big fan of the midfielder, but chose not to start him in the semi-final due to his discipline problems. Stood on the touchline, he told the midfielder he would only bring him on if he was going to score – if he failed, he’d take him off.
With four minutes to go, Bissouma made his entrance, and just two minutes later, he controlled a knockdown on the edge of the box and burst past the defender to calmly slot home the winning goal.
That says everything there is to know about the young midfielder. He has the potential to be a game-winner every time he is on the pitch, but one just has to find a way to harness that energy and make it work through an entire game.
That will be Bielsa’s job for the year ahead, and it’s going to be fun watching him try.

With ten minutes to go, losing 2-1 to Toulouse, the team in purple were set to go five points clear of Les Dogues and leave Christoph Galtier’s team languishing in 19th place.
Also feeling the pressure of a crucial six-pointer, Mickaël Debève’s side sat back too deep at the Stadium de Toulouse, inviting the away side to up the tempo, much to the despair of the home crowd.
Alban Lafont, the 19-year-old goalkeeper, was pulling out save after save, showing why he’s been an Arsenal transfer target.
Then, Lille were awarded a free-kick, 25 yards from goal.
Step forward Yves Bissouma…
Still only 21 years old, this is the Mali international’s second full season in Ligue 1.
Last term he made 23 appearances, scored once and proved an exciting prospect in a side that had struggled under a number of different coaches.
Once Marcelo Bielsa joined the club as the new manager, many believed the Argentine would guide the youngster to the next level, similar to what he did with Benjamin Mendy and Giannelli Imbula during his time at Marseille.
Before Bielsa’s turbulent spell came to an end, Bissouma played the full 90 minutes seven times, more than the five starts he managed last season.
However, in true ‘El Loco’ fashion, he featured at right-back, right-midfield, and only twice in his natural central midfield role.
Once Galtier was appointed as the new full-time coach, Bissouma struggled to find a place in the team. The former St Etienne boss chopped and changed, looking for the right combination of Bielsa’s misfits to guide Lille out of the relegation battle.
Going into their week 33 fixture at home to Guingamp, the 21-year-old hadn’t played 90 minutes once. Injuries and rumoured attitude problems kept him out of the team and many fans wondered if he’d ever fulfil the obvious potential they all believed him to possess.
His rejuvenation started in April against Guingamp. Finishing the game with six completed dribbles and four interceptions, his energy and drive in midfield was crucial in taking a 2-0 lead.
It could have been a huge win, if they hadn’t blown the lead in injury time and finished with just a point.
Even 4-0 down away to Marseille, his tackle and forward pass to Yassine Benzia helped Lille score a consolation goal.
The performances were starting to come, but the side from northern France needed points, hope and belief.
A huge display against Metz at home was capped off when he finished a superb second-half move to seal a 3-1 win; he was head and shoulders above anyone else on the pitch.
Since he broke through into the first team, Lille have signed players like Thiago Maia and Thiago Mendes, the next Brazilian superstars. When Les Dogues were looking for a hero, it was Bissouma, not the high-profile signings who came calling.

For two games in a row, Bissouma stepped up and pushed his team forward, leading them to safety.
Ranking central midfielders in Ligue 1, only Lyon’s Tanguy Ndombele completes more successful take-ons and he’s been one of the most impressive performers for OL this term.

Banned from signing new players in the January window, the DNCG threaten to drop them down regardless if they can’t find substantial funds this summer. Around €100million has been rumoured, but nothing is set in stone.
Ibrahim Amadou, close to joining Crystal Palace in the winter, will likely leave, Adama Soumaoro, Mendes, Maia and others will be first on the chopping block.
