Which is beaten by the famous Inverness Caledonian Thistle, north of the border.

Are there any teams with longer names, sensible answers please.

and Hull City is the only club whos name includes no gaps that can be coloured in.

Also, Finsbury Park backwards is Krapy Rubsniff..something which always makes me smile on the tube.

No bournemouth is.
It's full name is Bournemouth and Boscam associated(or something beggining with a) football club:dunce:

Isnt it AFC bournemouth..ie:

Association Football Club Bournemouth

Surely its taken for granted that all clubs have football club after the name?

I'm sure they were originally Bournemouth and Boscombe Athletic FC, but they changed it to AFC Bournemouth so they would alphabetically the first club in the league.

I don't know why I know that - and it worries me that I do!!

Another quiz question.

Name the only Football team (Prem, 1,2,3) without any of the letters of the word mackeral in it.

I think the shortest name for a football team is Bury?

Equally fascinating.

Bournemouth haven't been 'Bournemouth and Boscombe Athletic' for about 25 years. They changed their name to the continental-sounding 'Association Football Club Bournemouth'.

Technically all clubs are 'Association' Football clubs, although as soccer (sorry for using the term) is the most popular form of 'football' most clubs just call themselves FCs. Rugby clubs call themselves RFCs to differentiate their brand of football.

In the North the AFC definition is used more because of the popularity of Rugby League.
