Decent shout. Really nice album, absolutely lush production.

Also Revolver - The Beatles comes close but....Yellow Submarine is on it. So close.

All killer
Pivotal
Iconic cover
And , yes I dare say it could fit into any mood, except maybe a candle lit dinner for two.

Bubbling under, I would say :
Machine Gun Etiquette - The Damned
Highway To Hell - AC/DC

Ha, Sex Pistols match your mood most of the time. Jeez!!!! You must get tired being that angry.

An absolute masterpiece of storytelling and arguably the best Hip-Hop album of the century so far

Thats a hard question.

NMTB - Sex Pistols, Changed the way I listened to music.

Stations of Crass- Crass, Changed my whole way of thinking.

But a little known LP that came out a couple of years ago by a Brighton band called POG, is right up there. I recommend, Between the station and the sea. It all about Brighton and Brighton folk a simply suburb bit of work. Every track is just so well written IMHO.

I'm sure we did this yesterday. And the answer is the same, The Dark Side of the Moon

..although the Juno soundtrack album also works, funnily enough

Coupla slightly stinky ones on there in my opinion.

and there's no such thing as perfect length or cover.

I would suggest that when you consider the album cover with the music, then Argus is the perfect cover.

It fits perfectly with the songs

Time Was
Sometime World
Blowin' Free
The King Will Come
Leaf And Stream
Warrior
Throw Down The Sword

and at 44.45 is the perfect length for a single vinyl album

Quite simply... perfect. The final track also has a euphoric double crescendo. Scott Walker laces the entire production with gold.

I've had this album for over 6 years and I'd say it ticks all the boxes for me. There's never a time when it isn't a candidate for what I want to listen to right now.

Coming from the vinyl generation I would often only listen to 1 side of an album. Recently hearing some Lloyd Cole I got Rattlesnakes on CD thinking I've really loved that album but on listening to it I found side 2 was a virtual mystery to me.

So albums I have listened to, all the way through, more times than is good for my mental health are Dark Side of the Moon and Bat Out of Hell.

Gong - Camembert Electrique
David Bowie - The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars
Motörhead- 1916
Guns n Roses - Appetite for Destruction
Metallica - Metallica
Slaughter and the Dogs - Do it Dog Style
Kendal Carson - Rearview Mirror Tears

Not a single filler on any of those beauties.

Between 3 for me;

.

David Bowie - Low - some songs IN ISOLATION may not hold up but when listened to as an album in order, they all do.

.

Really good call, IMO best listened to in a slightly darkened room, or when driving at night with the volume turned up, same with Lodger.
