The No Other band, playing Gene Clark's 'No Other' live. Kathleen Edwards, now that she's come out of retirement. I can't think of a third. I've either seen them all, or they're dead.

More a case of I wish I'd seen them when they, and I, were a lot younger!
:
Quite - it's not quite the same when they're OAPs too!

Yes - when they came out with Close to the Edge.

Fairport Convention, with Sandy Denny and Richard Thompson in the line up.
Done those, but if I could see the following at their peak, when they were breaking through:
Dire Straits
U2
Genesis
Black Sabbath
Blondie for starters................

....and Dylan, obviously.

Probably wouldn't bother as they are now though.

Good thread. I actually thought about this a few years ago. Everyone including myself was hurtling towards the grave. List read.

Neil Young
Bruce Springsteen
Leonard Cohen
Tom Waits
Paul Simon

I'm seeing Paul Simon next month in Manchester and that will complete the list.

We can all die happy.

Saw the Who at Wembley in 1975 - fantastic, then at the Southampton Rose Bowl in 2007(?)) - oh dear.

High energy rock bands do not seem the same when they're wrinklies like us!

On points scoring! - got to see Genesis about four times back in the early 1970s (Nursery Crimes era), and Dire Straits at the Brighton Centre in 1981/2ish.

For me:

1. Neil Young
2. The Cure
3. Sizzla

You?

Top tip for Neil Young / The Cure, when they start playing 'Like a Hurricane'/ 'A Forest' you've got plenty of time to nip to the bar.

First gig I ever went to was to see The Smiths at Brighton Dome in 1985, was bloody good but also bloody loud, my ears were ringing for days after. Still got the ticket stub somewhere.

I was at that Smiths gig, but as I remember it, it was the support band, James, who were deafeningly loud. My ears were ringing until the Wednesday after.

Nearest I got to Genesis was Worthing Town Hall, when they were supporting Lindisfarne - and I couldn't get in. Could have seen Lindisfarne for free, because half the audience came out at half time, after Genesis, and gave away their tickets!

Points scoring? I saw The Who at Liverpool, the final gig before the Live at Leeds album...........
