Just been to Amex this morning to buy tickets for Cheltenham & Birmingham

Was it the proper ticket office open and properly staffed or was it that ultra-lame thing in West Stand reception area where they manage to serve one customer every 15 minutes like it was for the Southampton friendly?

Way out west
No still waiting, if not received by Wednesday will go to panic mode.
Always poor at getting first away tickets out every season. Cannot understand why when only 800 loyal fans want to go. Should not take one person more than a day to do this - hardly rushed off their feet for Cheltenham where most people will have printed their own.

Nope still not ready yet, they're still using West stand reception

Heard the club are haggling with the building contractors over £500 before the ticket office can reopen ;-)

Remember there is no transport or P&R for the COCup game, which would have hit numbers (myself included). Parking for this match costs more than the actual match ticket itself as well which again would put people off.

Trains are difficult for Birmingham too with no direct WCML trains running, that includes the dirt cheap Southern/London Midland tickets which were always well used by Albion fans.

There's 2 explanations for low numbers there.

Haven't read the whole thread so apologies if fixtures but the second ever competitive fixture at The Amex only drew in 14,000. So put into this context, 7000 three years on against shit opposition isn't overly concerning. I think what might be though is a gradual decline in gates this season if the transfer window doesn't improve dramatically between now and 31/08

They probably pay Royal Mail by the sack load, so they aren't going to throw 50 tickets into a sack that can fit 500. They just seem to wait until two days before the match and then get RM to turn up and collect 2-3 sack in this case) in one go. This was how it used to be done years ago, in a job I had in a post room but it was so long ago RM may have made changes.
