Following on from the favourite lyrics thread, how's about favourite misheard lyrics?

My personal favourite is from Hendrix's Purple Haze:

"Excuse me while I kiss the sky"

heard as:

"Excuse me while I kiss this guy"

And just happens to be the title of the site, where you can find all your earwax induced little blinders.

Vanity made me think that the line in Funky Town was 'God I'm the One' rather than 'Gotta Move On'....

My inlaws live in Virginia, upon my first visit I came out with this little gem
"where's mountain Palmer then ?"
[John Denver's Take me home country road]
When it is infact "West Virginia, mountain Mamma"

In Frankie Goes To Hollwood's "War (what is it good for ?)", there's a line which goes:

"Love, coupled with a mans pride"

I always thought it said

"Love, coupled with a mince pie"

In Bert Bacharach's "I'll never fall in love again" sung in Austin Powers 2, there's a line that says:

"Whatcha gonna do, he'll never bone you", which is meant to be "phone". Definitely says "bone" in the tune though.

Meopham, Kent.
Shania Twain in that song where she's in the desert in the video.

Lyric:
"You kiss your car goodnight"

I heard (still wonder):
"You kiss your cock at night."

honestly, listen to it thinking those words, and I'm sure I'm right.

On Bananarama's Robert de Niro's Waiting, I always heard the line "Robert de Niro's waiting, talking Italian." as "Robert de Niro's waiting, stocky Italian." Bizarrely enough, the same line features in the Kissthisguy website, misheard as "Robin the hero's waiting, the bald headed champion!" Mind you, the guy admits to taking interesting medication!

This is one for Dave the Gaffer coz it really annoys me!!

Proper lyrics: "Where's Your Head at"

His lyrics: "Let your hair down"

My dear old ma thought the hype about the Beatles worldwide, live on TV launch of their new song was a bit over the top for a trivial ditty with the message All we are saying is Give Me Some Jam.
