That may well be the case for some. At the moment Miss W is looking at her options after A levels and without exeception every bit of university bumpf has pushed how much of a better chance you will have of a great career over the possibility of learning something interesting. Some of the uni stuff I'd consider pushing the boundaries of being misleading

Very true.

In addition cross-party MP's and others are now looking at the con of many university courses. Charging £30,000 where there are relatively few lectures, seminars and tutorials. Some universities / courses will be far more honourable and of a high standard, but applicants and their parents need to be very aware of this early doors.

... except that the Guardian is a long, long way from being a far left newspaper. It's positively hostile to Corbyn and backed the Lib Dems in the election before last. It's a centre-left paper, the sort of English equivalent of Le Monde in France or El Pais in Spain.

This is not true as the Guardian is far left. Not the corbynite trotskyism true but the neo-marist frankfurt school od identity politics, its riven with it, the hardcore SJW variety that openly hates on whites and males. Or do you consider this moderate?

The Mail by contrast does not veer of into the other form of Identity politics, hating blacks or women, it takes a hard conservative view dressed up in sensationalism, yellow journalism. so less extreme than the Guardian.

What on earth are you on about? The Guardian is run by public-school and Oxbridge educated white males (it's only just appointed its first female editor in 200 years). You'd have to be some sort of looney to think that it's anti-male or anti-white.

1 It doesn't matter who it is run by, it does not excuse them bigotry or ideological extremism. no you dont have to be a looney to beleive this things you just need to read a few articles then take a gander at the comments section.

But it is undeniable that the Guardian has changed dramatically over the past few years, with much of it's output now majoring on Identity Politics, (as Looney pointed out)
Rightly or wrongly, Identity Politics is mostly associated with the "Left"

Witness yesterday's article on the publication of Einsteins travel diaries.
They could have written about where he went, what he saw and learned, and how that informed his lifetime body of work.
But no.
They chose to write an article highlighting what a racist he was!

The Guardian does not cover a wide range of political views. It's left wing to liberal at most, and very pro EU.

I've no problem with that, in the same that the Mirror is left wing, the Mail and Telegraph right wing.

The array of bias is good and we are lucky to have that acceptance. Under tyrannies and fake democracies (Russia), opposition journalists lose their lives.

Its articles as well, Jordan Peterson has also pointed out that "the left" makes no effort to draw a line between the centre and the extreme like happens on the right. ITs not only anti white racism and anti male, its anti sematism as well. This happens when you start pushing group identiities and dont draw a line with extremes.

These days there are more graduates in the written media than ever before, but that’s because there are more graduates in the general population. On the whole, though, I wouldn’t say that a degree makes much of a difference to a journalist’s abilities beyond helping him or her to organise their thoughts and write clearly. The journo I know with the most impressive degree is a Sun sports writer. More important are an enquiringly mind, the persistence to keep following a story, an ability to talk to and get on with people, and a refusal to take no for an answer.

Of course, there are exceptions. Some prefer to stay in front of their keyboards rather than get out there and find out what’s going on. But good luck to them if someone is willing to pay them to do it.
