The most curious thing..
Christmas dinner in pub adverts in full swing last week. 5 course menu at £65 per person (probably not including drinks but haven't checked as too appalled at the prospect in August).

Up in the big smoke last weekend with Family. Went to Harrods, as it turns out, they had sold out of Lions in their pet store, but their Xmas department opened last week, so bought a bauble for the tree instead. Ho Fecking Ho.....

I have it on reasonable authority that Christmas is being launched tomorrow at a supermarket whose name begins with T. Xmas cake, mince pies, festive themed biscuits etc are in the warehouse.
Spotted a couple of these last week too. I wouldn't go into the pubs in question on principle.

My guess would be depends on the quality of the pub/food + the number of seats you want? If you are planning a table for 10 at a decent place certainly think nowish would be the right time to secure
