Yeah there's nothing more than the occasional framerate drop and a few bugs but nothing to worry about!

It's definitely worth the wait!
This is getting to be unbearable, I've not looked forward to a game this much since Skyrim.

Soon it'll be the new Deus Ex as well...lovely mix of the future tech and the wasteland for Christmas!

Bought this on Monday but still downloading the ****ing thing on steam due to shit download speeds (1 megabyte in Brighton Town Centre), going away for a couple of days and coming back last night to find steam had somehow lost 7gb of the download. Gladly have tomorrow off so hopefully will be able to get into it a bit then.

Ha, I know the pain of download speeds in central Brighton..
Couldn't risk that for Fallout so had to get a physical copy!

Gullflyinghigh - yeah Dues Ex should be pretty great too. Also Battlefront is out next week but after Fallout I just can't seem to get excited for it.

I also know the pain of central Brighton speeds, well, I used to anyway.

I think Deus is the only other one this year I really want, I've moved away from straight up shooters recently including my once beloved Halo (I still love it to be fair, just not that bothered).

What's everyone thinking so far?

I'm bored shitless.
I've taken the disc out and can't see it going back in.
Just feels so boring, vast but empty landscapes, limited dialogue, annoying loading screens and SUCH boring "Go here, kill him/fetch this, return" ad infinitum.

Anyone else?

You're probably missing the half a dozen expansion packs that cost £20 a pop...

Well i stopped playing my Xbox 360 for about 2 years with the odd bash here and there. Just got bored really despite loving the Xbox. Decided to go for a PS4 purely on games being released just for it.
For the last week or so i cannot put down the game called - The last of us. The single player is excellent but the multiplayer - wow. Best MP i have played to date.

There are rumors of a follow up in the pipeline.

Yeah The Last of Us is a masterpiece. In my top 10 games of all time.
Never played Multiplayer though.

They're just sorting out a film and they'd be silly not to make some sort of sequel within that world.

I'm currently booting up Dishonoured on the Xbox One which is supposed to be amazing.

Just so disappointed with Fallout though. I loved New Vegas, this is just so boring!

The multiplayer really excels for me. You just can't rush in and spray like call of duty games as you won't last 1 minute. It's more tactical. It's completely underrated. Give it ago for an hour and you will be hooked.

Phenomenal game. Best of the PS4 so far. A true sandbox.

Love how every location is completely unique - the dialogue is superb. The settlement building needs tweaking, some minor annoyances, but despite the flaws it is great fun.

I'm progressing well throughout the story - got some great weapons and armour, and working my way through the perks. Well on my way to becoming an unstoppable force, I WILL unite the commonwealth and return it to prosperity.

Each to his own I guess.

I see every location as being almost identical.
Heavily limited dialogue compared to ALL previous Fallout games. The voice acting is good, but there's barely any conversation options.
I've dabbled in the settlement building, it was good fun for about 30 minutes, but what's the point in it other than storing some insignificant NPC's?

What I did like, was walking around Boston Common, having been there "IRL", semi-retracing my steps around a small area in the map.
Also, the weapon and armour mod stations are great. However, why do they make you store all your 'junk' in one particular solitary station? Why not just make your items accessible from any workstation in the game rather than "fast (horrendously slow) travelling" back to your original workstation.

I'm not fussed about the last-gen graphics. I've always preferred a good story and likeable/relatable/personable protagonists opposed to nice and shiny pictures.

To me, any many other players (casual reviewers), this is Fallout 3.5. Which in some ways is great but ultimately reveals a lack of creativity and evolution after 8 years from Bethesda.

I'm loving Fallout 4. It's a truly expansive world and the combat is properly hard.

Loving the modding of armour and guns, crafting your own kick are chems etc.

Plus if you set up supply lines between settlements all your stuff is available everywhere.

Ok dialogue not perfect but who cares. Combat is ace and so many quest options.

How do you set up supply lines? Can they spread throughout the whole map?

Quest options I'd personally disagree with though, in my opinion. Every quest so far is fetch and return. Kill a couple of ghouls, synths, mutants or raiders whilst letting your follower/assistant get in your way at every opportunity!

I might not be as far into the game as you guys, so I might not have really gotten going yet.

Have you got the difficulty set too easy. More than 3 ghouls are challenging to me.

To set supply lines find a settler in crafting mode. Highlight them then the option comes up on the screen (R1 on PS4)

I think there is an element of this being Fallout 3.5 in that it is closer to Fallout 3 than it is to New Vegas and the only real evolution in gameplay is the addition of the settlement building business BUT I also think this is exactly what the majority of fans wanted. Don't mess with a winning formula and risk alienating players, the focus should always be on making something just as epic in scale as the last one, which I think this is.

For a lot of players they won't have experienced F3 or New Vegas so the fact the formula is so similar is a good thing as they get to experience everything that made F3 such an incredible game.

The biggest disappointment for me is the soundtrack as they've used almost all of the same songs from F3 with a handful of new ones mixed in. When you've ploughed over 100 hours into the Capital Wasteland those songs are going to have become as familiar as your own face so to have them all on a loop again for F4 is a bit of a cop out.

Still, it's a minor criticism and it's not stopping me from wanting to be immersing myself in this game at every waking hour. I'm 64+ hours in and feel I've barely scratched the surface

Where about's in the game are you and what level are you up to?
Seems to be working out at levelling up at a rate of 1 level per hour.

I haven't figured out which buttons makes you go forward, I'm still stood in my cryogenic pod like a lemon.

Actually I just got sidetracked on the Minutemen missions, been clearing out as many settlements as possible so that I'll have a few more resources when I eventually crack on with the main story; I also find myself stopping and checking every landmark/site that I come across en route to the waypoints, the OCD Fallout player in me won't let me enter a room and give it a cursory glance, I have to check every centimetre for goodies.

What perks are people going for and how effective are they? Lone Wander is surprisingly good, seeing as you can still take Dogmeat with you and it doesn't effect it...

Currently level 21 and taking a guns/science/lock-picking approach to levelling.

Haha.

Well I'm back on Fallout 4, despite my semi-flounce last night.
Up to Level 20 and taking a better look into the Settlements. Starting to build a few shacks and hoping to sort out the supply line between settlements soon.
I think I need to start looking for parts to build the recruitment beacons.
This building malarkey is pretty good fun.
Although still quite bored with the story so far. I've got no idea what's going on or which one the main quest is.

Agreed I haven't the slightest idea which one the main quest is.

So much to explore. I spend an hour trying to defeat some super mutants in a scrap yard. Got em eventually

Out of interest, how many people actually take a companion with them?

I think I've now got 6/7 available to travel with me but I just don't see the point of it, mostly a legacy of years of escort missions in games...*shudder*
