Why can't these clowns do the work during the night, like they do on the motorways etc......
It'll cause a lot less grief for all IMO

Do you think the people who schedule these would actually bother to check whether they inconvenience football fans, even if they could see the fixtures in advance ? They care about football fans about as much as Sky when they schedule evening fixtures between teams 300 miles apart so they can't get a train home

I agree with this totally, at the end of the day, it comes down to money!

Fed up with trains. Sick of the rain.
If the engineering works have to be planned months /years in advance then how come they have managed to swap the Week long closure of the line between Brighton and Three Bridges in October for umpteen weekends of replacement bus service misery between September and May within the last two months?

Well this is shit. What are the rail replacement buses like from Worthing way?

Even Seagulls Travel have nothing left from this way

They make a detour via every station, so takes yonks. Bring a flask and a packed lunch.

The 700 isn't too shabby - all along the seafront. You can then pick up the 25 from Churchill Square or Old Steine. Either way, allow 40 minutes to get to Brighton.

We must be their biggest single customer. For routes to the Amex, they have Saturdays throughout the year they know we won't have a home game including the international breaks to schedule works to key services to the Amex. Once fixtures are then published, they'll have a whole raft of other weekends to plan works ahead too. Yes, no doubt logistically it would take a lot more work to organise their works around their commitment to the Albion, but you'd think in any other industry that is what a service provider would do.

don't they fly the service team from Venezuela , Albania or somewhere....there's more to life than pandering to the needs of our football club when it comes to southern , be we their largest customer or not......which is doubtful.

What is up with Dunk seriously.... I’ve been out the loop for a while.

On strike apparently. Told even as Vice Captain he can't bring his flask.

They do, where possible, but at best you're getting 4 hours a night without train movements down that way, on the mainline that drops to just over 2 which is just about enough to ensure its safe to work on the line before you've got to remove all that protection.
