Will be excellent if there's a variety of independent food outlets serving thai, mexican etc etc

I seem to remember this was one of the requests going back to pre-planning permissiong days. I thought it might be a big ask at the time, maybe we're not too far away from getting something of this ilk. A bit of competition between the vendors with decent food.

That streetdiner Street Food market which is on Friday and Saturday mornings on Queens Road and Wednesday at Hove Town Hall is pretty popular, maybe they could have that at the Amex on Saturdays. All the traders for the market are independent and having 20,000 people coming past would be a massive financial boost for them as well as good PR for the club.

Although of course, the club would HATE people eating there instead of inside the actual ground though - which would be a shame.

There are a number of plans to really Albion-ise the outside of the stadium and make it more of the whole match day thing for a fan.

These include live bands and food and drink concessions including alcohol.

The licensing for the latter has already been resolved, however Sheffield Wednesday is a Category A game and as such alcohol will not be sold outside on Saturday. I believe it should be available for Cheltenham and then for the Bolton league game.

A very good analogy I heard last night is that, for a fan, approaching the Amex from the station should give the same sort of feeling that players get walking down the tunnel onto the pitch.

It won't all be in place on Saturday, but we should see the first stuff then, with more to come later.

Missed the fans forum goings on last night. Has this sort of stuff come from Tom Gorringe or was it already in the pipeline? Cardiff won awards for their matchday experience when he worked there (I was really impressed by their setup on my only trip there) so I'm rather assuming he's had some input. In the short time since he's been in his post, I've been really encouraged by some of the stuff he's put out via Twitter & other media. He seems to be someone with a lot of great ideas already, and appears to be at the forefront of the club reaching out to supporters. Great to see.

I'm on the official site deciding what stand to buy a ticket in and it says this Match is Category: B Grade.

Grade B for tickets, Category A for the Police.

Unless the club get a permanent licence for outside, they will only be allowed to do it ten times a year. I'd be surprised if they allow it permanently.

We've been asked to. I'm not sure where it stands right now. I'll be back to watch the match but won't be playing myself. We only got the call yesterday though so could be tricky.

Go on play. I've been waiting to see TwoChoices for years.

Great idea I have felt the approach to the stadium is little bit sterile. Get some flag sellers and old programmes and badge sellers loved that atmosphere when I first went to football. Well done.

Yeah l used to love that atmosphere too. Unfortunately programmes, old as well as new, aren't in demand the way that they once were. Similarly rosettes and metal badges went out of fashion thirty odd years ago. Shame.

Thanks. Rather unusual to have Cat A police and not tickets. Always thought that Cat A games mean tickets and police.

No, they are completely separate.

The club set this as a Category B because it is August and lots of people are on holiday and 'massive club' Sheffield Wednesday :lolol: are not that big a draw.

The police set this as Category A because 'massive club' Sheffield Wednesday :lolol: will bring a lot of fans during what is a busy time with tourists in the town.

They really are not related in any way. Except maybe the club would be tempted to charge the higher price for police Category A games as their bill from Sussex Police is likely to be higher.

Just got word. The boys (and girl) from Two Choices will be playing from 1:30pm on the new stage outside the shop.

I like what the club is doing with this. It could be a great addition to many people's pre-match routine!

edit: keaton this will be your chance to see your old colleague behind the drums!

Unfortunately, I don't think they will be. I hear the club don't have a licence for live music outside the stadium, so the stage that went up today is coming down in the morning. :-(

But where will I go to the toilet?

Surely if this is to be a goer then they must have considered this. If the time it took to put the new signs up on the way to the
Station is indicative it will take all of this season to provide a couple of portables.:drink:

Great idea. It was the one annoyance that if you had mates / family in a different stand you couldn't have a drink together at the ground before kick off (unless you queued up at Dicks Bar.
