Isaac Hayes score for Shaft; not a great movie maybe, but the score manages to be both seedy and upbeat at the same time and is perfect for the film.

The Open Market
Pretty much anything by Ennio Morricone.

The pick of his work - the theme from 'A Fistful of Dynamite'.

I've been very fortunate enough to see Hans Zimmer live three times now and each time just got better and better.

I'm also a huge fan of Thomas Newman (American Beauty, Road to Perdition, Shawshank Redemption and Adjustment Bureau)

But Hans Zimmer - WOW.
