As not doing Parkrun have time to put Mo Farah in the NSC 5000m table for a few weeks as an Honorary Champion. i'll take him off when we play Arsenal.
The big question is where will we be able to watch from next Saturday with the Final scheduled for 8.20 pm?

I was thinking this on the way to Park Run this morning I'm not sure I'll make it back home in time.
I'll have to try to work out how to watch it on my phone, and hope I have a signal on the train.

Bloody Worthing!
I've noticed that Mo F has taken the lead in AG comp. I'm not having that! And he's an Arsenal supporter too. Having said that after seeing him win that 10K last night I'd almost forgive him anything. What a race.

Worthing: 21:34 for me in perfect conditions.

I helped myself to a steady 21:39 around Hove Park today, my achilles felt ok throughout the run but it's funny how quickly you lose speed endurance when you're not able to train properly. All the cycling, rowing and swimming in the world can't compete with hard milage out on the road. I didn't push myself too much, but I don't think I'd have been able to do much better than sub 21 at the quickest.

Also, it was my 20th parkrun for the year, I'd only run 14 before this calendar year since my first run in 2014!

Just got my Hastings result. 19:44 for me, sub 20 finally achieved and with 16 seconds to spare, I'm absolutely made up with that.

Great effort, breaking 20 minutes is tremendous feeling. Sub 19:30 next.

I ran a relatively quick hilly 5 miles this morning in 34:35. Will slow it down tomorrow for a long run. Conditions first thing tomorrow are perfect again like this morning.

Well done. I notice that Hasting's is a lot more competitive than last year.

Remember cycling and rowing in the week are going to take their toll on Saturday. Glad the achilles feels good

Not been well so missed pr last week and thought I'd miss this week too as junior needed dropping off at scout camp @Ardingly for 10am. But got a result when i realised Clair or was on route. Even managed to convince junior to run too and then change in the car.
The time not great (23.20) but glad to be out, and also to tick off another pr.

One of those parkruns where you aim to run an easy 5k but get into the groove and 24 minutes becomes 22.41 [emoji23][emoji23]

Bloody Worthing!
Four weeks ago my PB was 23:27. In the three Parkruns since then I've run 22:59, 22:49 and today in my 50th Parkrun a 22:12. Considering my aim for 2017 was just to get in the 22s, I can't believe I'm now heading for the 21s with five months of the year remaining.

I need to put the Parkrun times to one side for a few weeks now though and focus on my first half marathon in September.

Brilliant progress. Which HM are you doing in Sept? There's plenty to choose from. I'm lining up Seaford's, all being well.

In anticipation of Sunday trains being pointless, will run back today from Amex to Brighton (or Preston Park). Who has a PB for this then? :)

big nuts I should think.

I've run back 3 times, once was a Tuesday night game against Reading, once after the MK Dons FA Cup game last year and another Tuesday after Rotherham. We've got a 100% record when I've run home.

The Reading run I was in good form and ran 6.5 miles in 6:40 ish per mile back to Hove seafront.

Thanks! I was at Worthing too so based on your earlier post I'd have been finishing about 40 seconds behind you yesterday without knowing it. I struggle to remember ever seeing better conditions at Worthing in the year or so it's been running. That was the dream for anyone seeking a PB.

I'm running the Bedford HM next month. It sounds a bit of a strange choice but some friends could get me a free place so I went for it, it's obviously not what I would have picked. My main motivation is simply covering that distance competitively for the first time. I'm not really focusing on time, I just want to finish it comfortably enough so that it leaves me wanting to get home and sign up for another one. I'll probably do it in about 1hr 50 based on my current long distance training pace, which obviously isn't great but it gives me something to aim at next time.

Seaford sounds a bit hilly to me, although I've never run there, only golfed. What other good HMs does Sussex offer?

Barns Green is very popular....good race. Nice route.

Yes - Worthing - wind = PB heaven. Loads of 'tourists' are hearing this I think. Other than agreeing with dazzer's commendation of Barns Green I can't point to specific Sussex events but I always think of September as having loads of events. You've probably come across the link below but if not you might find it useful.
I ran a 'half marathon' in training yesterday - my longest run for many a year. I managed 1:58. This is not an end in itself - just the weekly long run for my marathon in November. But Seaford (which I think is basically a flat seafront course of 4 laps) will be a good stepping stone and I hope (like you) around to clock 1:50.
