This is true, but still worth it I think.
But being young and English means he doesn't take up a valuable squad place.

True, however in the case of Abraham:
1) You have him for the other 36 games
2) It would be the Chelsea games he would miss.
If I understand it correctly Solly March et al don't take up a place in the 25 man EPL squad.

If they are under 23 and English they don't count to your 25 man squad you have to name.

At least it'll be against the Champions who we, realistically, aren't putting down as a game where 3 points are HIUGELY likely.
U21. So Solly will have to be part of the 25 man squad.

- Clubs register a squad of up to 25 players, which must include at least eight 'home-grown' players, at the end of each transfer window.
- Home-grown players do not have to be English; home-grown players are defined as those who "irrespective of nationality or age, have been affiliated to the FA or Welsh FA for a period of three seasons or 36 months prior to 21st birthday"
- Clubs can supplement squad with unlimited number of players under the age of 21.
- Changes can be made only during transfer windows, although in exceptional circumstances (eg goalkeeping injury crisis) moves could be allowed.
- Rules apply only to Premier League matches, not European, FA Cup or League Cup action.
So if Tammy joins, by virtue of being 19 at the start of next season, he wouldn't count towards our 25...
Our 'youngsters' March and Walton are too old and count as 25 man squad members.

realise that, but probably a game you'd want a youngster to play and impress in ? Who thought B'muff would be Chelsea away last season ?

Bit harsh - Labs generally have a far better first touch than CMS.

Cheek or Abraham according to that article. However, it is the Daily Mail who tend to get every football transfer story wrong, so who knows.
