Quite honestly, the majority of players that we should be looking to bring in, should all have good solid Premier League experience. Within reason age isn't an issue. I don't mind if some of them are the wrong side of 30, it will all count towards the number of games they have under their belt.
Yes of course we need the odd younger one too, as well as one or two loan players, but l honestly believe that Premier League know how is going to be crucial.
We shouldn't be looking too far into the future either, just as long as the new recruits can help us to gain Premier Legue survival come the end of our first season. Once we gain that all important first threshold, then we can plan ahead properly.

Agreed. Every player on the wage bill next season has to be prepared to give everything for the club. Loan players are all well and good, but there have been far too many instances over recent seasons when several have gone missing when the going gets tough.
I used to worry about that too, before I was persuaded by a small army of NSC posters who reminded me that many years back he played in La Liga, and that his football intelligence will allow him to cope with lightning fast LW'ers with ease.
Heady days to be an Albion fan.
Reading threads regarding recruitment over the last month of so, most NSC'ers are far more positive than that, for two reasons:
1. The incredible squad spirit within the promoted group. Giving them a notable advantage over PL rivals.
2. Posters suspect that TB/Winstanley will grab relative low cost bargains from outside of English football, who will be fine in the PL. Whilst the likes of Huddersfield are paying way over the odds on Championship quality players.
Just saying, that the overall mood is very positive that we'll be fine in the PL.

Many years?..... 120 games for two clubs from 2007-2012.... then he joined us.... So not as you ancient history.

All the better. Not long out of La Liga = recent top flight experience, which will serve us well in the PL.
Please read the other posts. He played in La Liga, so he will be fine against most of what the PL can throw at him.

I love Bruno, but he and we will come unstuck if he is first choice this season
Bruno is up there with my all time favourite Albion players. He has the brain, the skills and the nouse but I just don't believe he has the pace required at this level week in week out.

Bruno's passing, ball retention and game intelligence make him one of the Albion greats.
Perhaps CH might make him wide RM, if we manage to get a pacey specialist RB in, especially if AK is out? Or a back three with wingbacks, with one of the back three having the pace to cover for Bruno?
The team is better with Bruno in it.

He'll join Klopp's mate at Huddersfield. Was always going to happen, and all the will-he-won't-he from Liverpool was just to put off other teams ( eg us ) that Gomez might have chosen instead of them.

Yes, I think we have hopefully gone for the Czech defender instead of Gomez, but maybe if Goldson does go out on loan we'll bring in someone else specifically for Central defence.
That's how I read it as well perhaps with a late loan for goldson if he goes out. Answers the question about the Czech being a ds signing which some wondered about.

I can not see that we will unless we suffer an early season injury as we have 3 good capable CBs and if needed could do like last season and find an out of contract experienced one to make up the squad but I am not sure on the regulations about naming a 25 man squad which may not permit this.

You mention the reason at the end.
The 25 man squad is locked in and you can only parachute in an out of contract player if they are under 21. The only other way is to only submit a 24 man squad, leaving a space which could be used by an out of contract player at a later date.

Only name a 24 man squad and leave 1 vacancy would sound ideal as we would not need more than 3 CBs unless a bad injury which would then be filled by the 25th man.
We have 4 capable CB's, why send one out on loan and then have to look for another on loan. Absolutely pointless. If, IF, one isn't happy not being in the team then he needs to work harder to get in it.
