Ad-blocking

I think I might have to withdraw my 'unobtrusive' comment. I think there's a Diesel ad (for clothes, not fuel) that seems to position my cursor at the bottom of the page so I have to view it. I can be halfway down a thread and then, bam! I'm at the bottom of the page staring at it. Other ads don't seem to do it. (Chrome browser btw)

I could be mistaken and it could be something else doing it, but it's frickin' annoying. This is the first time something like this has happened.

My internet security says there are 7 tracking systems on NSC. 5 ad trackers,1 Analytic and 1 social. All are blocked!!!

I'm on Chrome and have just had this happen when reading the Model Railway thread. It's loud (audible) and the cursor got stuck also.

The Diesel ad that's currently running below 'quick reply' does interfere with NSC as it drags the page down and holds it there.

This. Although I also had to disable the tracker block on Avast in order for the ads to appear. Don't seem obtrusive at all tbf.

I have just tried white-listing NSC in light of this thread. However, the nasty picture of Richard Branson which has now appeared at the top of the page with a message telling me to "unleash my digital beast" is in danger of making me reconsider.

Glad it's not just me - and it just happened again. It's the 'locking' that's the most irritating as you can't scroll back up the page. Haven't got sound (in the office) so mercifully I can't hear it.

Just had the Diesel ad several times in succession. I'm perfectly happy to have the ads that I've been getting, but the auto-locking is a deal-breaker as are ads that play audio (which it also does).

Ad-blocker back on for the foreseeable I'm sorry to say.

Your tolerance must be very low if you’re talking about your experience as a logged in user.

I use NSC more than most people and have the exact same view as any other of NSC’s thousands of members. And there’s absolutely no pain at all.

I meant more that I could either give myself an ad-free view or use an ad-blocker, but I see no need.
