Read it again - it says they only estimate based on tangible assets, and do not include bank accounts. Therefore, it doesn't matter what he has earned.
I may have earned $100K this year, but if I had to spend $99.9K of that, then I would not be classed as rich.

(Guess what, I didn't earn anything like that, BTW )
