Desperate to see some grass or even road to run on....two weeks of cruise ship treadmill/deck laps almost finished ! Managed to cover about 60m so far but bloody boring ! No way it's counteracted the massive increase in calorie intake either.

Also had some miserable old goat very deliberately barge into me on the deck this morning as I ran past him because I was 'going the wrong way round'..........

After tuesday's 4 x 1 mile session at an average pace of 6:27 per mile, I found myself out on the streets for 8 x 500 metres today, averaging 1:46 per half KM. I am happy with that pace, it always feels harder in training sessions than it does on raceday, I think the mentality is a bit different so it's like you're thinking more about the shorter distance pace. Is that just me?

I'm looking for a gentle 30 minutes 2017 parkrun #24 tomorrow! I might have a go at trying to get somewhere other than Hove Park, so you know where I'll end up!

Another parkrun progression run for me this morning, 8:50, 8:47, 8:46. 24 parkruns for the year now for me, can anyone better that on here?

I'd only managed to run 14 before this year, and most of those were because I used work saturday's in Telecom House, next to Preston Park!

knocky1 I need a 5k table update please.

Cycled up and over to Hove Prom this morning and conditions were as expected near perfect. Felt pretty good throughout but didn't expect to beat my PB. I didn't work out my expected finish time going into the final straight, but I knew it would be below 19 minutes. I probably had half an eye on beating Ninja Elephant SB & PB at 18:50 so when I looked at my watch 18:38 (Park Run robbed me of a second, timed at 18:39) I was really surprised but very pleased.

First time in 18 months I've dipped below 19 minutes and 18 months since my last 5k PB which was 18:40.

Having run Preston Park & Hove Prom fairly recently I reckon you can add 12-15 seconds on for a Preston Park Park Run because of the hill X2.

Top work big nuts! You nearly caught the Curious Orange for second place in the table.

I really think you should both enjoy your current league placings though - because I'm only 3 weeks away from my target parkrun.

2nd place doesn't seem so unobtainable now, but I'm only capable of running close to sub 18:36 on a flat and windless course. Hove Park or Preston Park I'd say that's out of reach for the foreseeable at least.

Where will your target Park Run be? Or are you weighing up the conditions?

The Orange needs to be worried! Capricorn is temporarily safe at the summit!

I reckon those of us based in Brighton should have a Withdean track 5k race before the end of the season, with a few jars and maybe a bite to eat in the Sportsman afterwards? See how quickly we could shift ourselves around a track. Any takers?

I'm still deciding the destination for my PB attempt, I'm thinking it will probably be the Promenade for the speed. And because I want to catch both yourself and the Orange!

Put me in for the track 5k. I only live a mile from Withdean. I'll try and get along to your PB attempt if I can, would be good to push each other on.

It'll be 23rd September - I can come to Preston Park if you can't make the Prom that day. Going head to head couldn't hurt! Until the end result...

Excellent effort. Still some life in those knackered hamstrings.
I see the lad Ninja can edit the table. Very sporting too. No way would I move anyone above me in the table.

A track 5k at Withdean would be great Ninja as the surface should be fast. I'd come and watch this year and hope to be at next years.

23:18 was enough for 14th/89 this morning at Peacehaven. My best of three runs there with nearly a minutes. better than last time.

Nearly missed the start due to a fairground lorry blocking the A259 literallly jumped out of the car and ran to the start line to make it - so much for warming up.

Would be interested in a track run- I haven't run on track since school.

knocky1 - as manager, I think you should suggest a date for the track session showdown.

My final scheduled 5k PB attempt race is November 11th - that one will be at Hove Park for certain.

Anyone taking on the Half Marathon in Seaford tomorrow? A bloke I work with is aiming for a 1:24 (4 minutes per kilometer), he once beat Mo Farah in a 10k race (10 years ago!) so he's got the legs. Once I've beaten big nuts in a straight 5k race, I'll be looking to take him on!

I'm doing it. But I don't think that I'll be anywhere near 1:24!

I think Mr Banana has done track sessions there, he may be able to give some information. As a non runner I won't add more than that, won't make a table of finishing times afterwards but would enjoy the spectacle.
