I do like Stratum for the Ebor a week on Saturday, they were talking that up as the likely next target after his victory on Saturday, a little like Withhold in that it’s the type of race that he probably needs to win in order to gain a Melbourne Cup spot.. the 7/1 currently available on him for the Ebor will be much shorter if and when he’s declared....

Bet365 currently showing 'a' Stratum offered at 33/1 for the Caulfield Cup, same venue as the Melbourne Cup only a couple of weeks earlier. Can't see anything on Google to confirm if it's 'our' Stratum or an Aussie horse with the same name. Seems a bit of a coincidence tho. Any ideas?

Taking the 10/1 can't be a bad play even if you don't have access to BOG because if it drifts like a barge Tomorrow wont be the day but given the prize money, it's a safe bet that it's trying.

There was horse named Stratum in Australia in 2002 so I would assume this one is the Bloom horse.

Plenty of rain about in the forecast tonight and tomorrow so this one is looking promising! Seeing 8/1 and 15/2 on Oddschecker so guessing that the money is coming, either that or the bookies just don’t fancy laying another big Bloom handicap punt! Only the 29 runners in this one

I’ve already had some 10’s with PP and will go again tomorrow if the going has eased... I’m going up there tomorrow and would love to cheer this one back in to the winners enclosure.

Good spot, definitely ‘our’ Stratum... Melbourne Cup and Caulfield Cup double! That would be some achievement. Caulfield Cup the slightly shorter distance.. what a nice option to have, you’d think it unlikely that he would run them against each other so maybe the double is worth a couple of pounds...

Cheers to your good self and The Brighton Bear. As well as the singles, a small and speculative e/w double beckons...

9/1 the best available this morning and they've had 2mm of rain since racing finished yesterday with the chance of showers this morning. 6 or even 7 places available at some shysters this morning although getting any sensible amount on with any of the clowns that have 7 places will be almost impossible:nono:

Yes, not Winston's finest moment as he left the blinds on until it was too late and then buried it before making his run probably too late although he must be a doubtful stayer and may be better over a fast run 6f. Always, hit and hope when you have a hold up horse though.

Stewards Cup on Saturday over 6f has to be a possibility if he’s come out of Saturdays jog ok. 20/1 at the moment but I wouldn’t be touching him now but if the noises are right during the week he’ll be worth backing. Today’s rain on heavily watered ground will not hurt.
