A similar approach being taken by "The Other 14" which has us very well placed even before today's game:

3 more wins needed, albion, that's just 3 more wins.

I wouldn't want to gamble on 34 points keeping us up. 5 more wins for me (although I'd be fairly confident that 4 would do).

But .............. we're not scrambling for 17th.place any more, are we. Looking up - who can we catch?

Such a big win for us yesterday, at the end it felt like the fans and players all sensed the significance.

That puts us back in a position where we're looking up rather than down.

Agree. Both Merson and Lawro tipped us to get beat easily.

Yesterday's win means there are 10 clubs poorer off than us in the tracker. We've moved above Watford and Bournemouth (assuming United don't surrender their 2 goal lead at time of posting). I'd never bothered to work out Everton but turn out they are on 0.

Huddersfield -15; Fulham -11; Burnley -6; Newcastle -5; Southampton -3; Cardiff -2; Everton 0; Palace 1; Watford 5; Bournemouth 6; Albion 7; West Ham 7; Leicester 7; Wolves 11.

This is excellent work. I like it. Interesting how low Everton are.

And then for the more optimistic amongst us, a European tracker. (I'm desperate to qualify for Europe just so when we get knocked out we can have a different kind of Brexit thread)

But anyway, same synopsis but based on achieving 56 points which has mostly been enough to qualify for Europe. Burnley did it with 54 last season.

Interestingly the first 10 matches are identical to the staying up tracker.

Hope you like the Orange European tracker.

p.s) my hunch, for what it's worth is we will be somewhere between the 2, 45-48 points.

Only 4pts off the euro tracker

There is an outside chance that we’ve already got enough points.

According to "The Other 14" the 18th placed team is currently predicted to finish on 33 points, so 3 more wins needed for safety

Exactly what I posted earlier...........think it’ll be max 33/34 for safety - the bottom 4 all already need to do quite a bit better in the second half to reach that.....

Well, if you want to risk settling for 34 points now .......................... I don't! That might be enough, but I wouldn't want to gamble our PL survival on it.

Besides, there's a club or two who are only 2 or 3 points ahead of us that I fancy trying to catch.

I see that Brighton are now between 30s or 40s to go down while Bournemouth are about 150/1

That's a big discrepancy considering that Bournemouth are only one point ahead of us

Huddersfield are 1/7 or 1/8 - very short odds for just halfway through the season.
