Can take as little as 24 hours. I reckon it'll be done by Friday. Still no guarantee of a work permit yet though.

In the case of Kayal:-

His work permit hearing was on Wednesday January 28 2015. When approved, the required government visa from the Home Office was sought, being granted the next day. That evening (Thursday) the transfer was completed and the necessary paperwork was lodged with the Football League and the FA. International clearance from the FA came through late on Friday January 30. He made his first appearance (for the development squad) on February 3rd.
