You're right completely different level. It only cost £1 billion.

Buying the student vote would cost the tax payer £9.5 billion, so you're right its a completely different (lower) level.

The current system is a joke though and will cost us even more in the long run. I was just before the new system but still came out of uni with approx £18k of debt. Despite earning a decent wage I onyl pay £41 per month back which will take me over 36 years assuming I stay at roughly the same salary level. This doesn't however account for interest which is currently around £30 per month. So all in all I am paying off around £120 per year which means it's highly possible that I will never paid this off in my working liefetime. For students leaving now the rules are different and your debt is wiped if not paid back in full after 25-30 years depending on when you started. So if students are leaving university with £30-50k debt which has to be paid off in 25-30 years then it is plain for everyone to see that in about 20 years there is going to be a vast black hole that needs to be filled (by the government I expect) as all of these loans are written off.

So all in all it's probably just cheaper to make university free for all sensible academic subjects which will give us a better skilled population that can feed our economy. Further to this, £40 a month may not sound much but it can be the difference between someone being able to save for a mortgage/buy a car etc so taking this money away from people for most of their working lives just doesn't make sense.

Apart from the fact that making students pay for university is morally wrong.

Yes. It was out of order for Labour to introduce this policy in 1998.

Oh, a sensible post, so a sensible reply. I agree that "sensible" academic subjects should whilst maybe not completely free, certainly shouldn't cost more than a grand a year. Any subject where there is a shortage in the workplace, should be next to nothing for student. I won't argue with that.

Yer, got it wrong like everyone else. I called a 20-30 Tory majority. Got the Tory win right, just not the result.

But being such a know all, I take it you earnt a nice big wedge of the bookies by getting it correct. Or are you just gloating with hindsight?

If you did win a lot (as you bragging would suggest) then wiould you like to join the Tory party. It's what a lot of lefties do when they come into money. Would be more than welcome.

Silly comparison paying student fees has an end product that will be beneficial to the country

Why is it?

So being able to vote through the Brexit deal, without being voted down by Labour won't be beneficial. It will be the best billion pound spent this term.

The Tories could come back with the best deal ever, and Labour would vote it down for their own gains. So best we spend an extra billion in NI and keep the Comrades votes meaningless.

Welcome back, still having a whale of a time winding up the lefties are you
Did you miss me sweetheart. Don't worry I didn't go far, I was on here a few times to see the crap you and your comrades where posting.:lolol::lol::lolol:

Talking to a few customers today, most of whom don't know my political leanings, I've never heard so much anger as at this deal. True Blue Tories are being really scathing, some even saying they hope it all falls apart, how can they give our money away, when we've been told we haven't got any, etc etc
Did that really happen, or are you just making up your stories again to show off to the boys and girls on here. Did you really met True Blue Tories who want to see it all fall apart during Brexit, the most important period in our living history and send the country into turmoil? Did you? Really? Or is Mr Imagination being a naughty boy again, and lying to the boys and girls?

I see left people.

Walking around like regular people.

THEY ONLY SEE WHAT THEY WANT TO SEE....... They don't know they're left!!!

Welcome back, still having a whale of a time winding up the lefties are you, or contemplating the MASSIVE landslide you told us the Tories were going to get?

With less than 24 hours till voting starts, what are your predictions of the result.

I'm going 30-35 seat Tory majority (unfortunately)

I'm going 20-30 seat Tory majority (fortunately), but would not be surprised if it was a landside. For the record if Labour had the same leadership as in 2015, as pathetic as it was, I think they would have a chance. With the clown they have in charge now, I can see them being wiped of the political map, but will go with a 20-30 majority.

So it would appear I called the election better than you did. Only by 5 seats mind. And maybe if it wasn't for JC, and you had the 2015 leadership, as surprising as the result was for EVERYONE including YOU, maybe you would have had a chance as I said. But then...............

I see left people.

Walking around like regular people.

THEY ONLY SEE WHAT THEY WANT TO SEE.......

THEY ONLY SEE WHAT THEY WANT TO SEE.......

THEY ONLY SEE WHAT THEY WANT TO SEE.......

Yes I agree it was and it was out of order of every government since not to remove them and cancel the debts and pay back the loans.

Yes, it was out of order for Labour not to do this when money was plentiful during the 2000's boom period in the two successive periods of government they had after introducing this policy in their first term.

It should have fallen to the Tory/Lib Dems to do this straight after Labour emptied the treasury when they come to powwer in 2010, and then it should have been priority for the Tories to do this when there was so much money splashing around in 2015/16 during their brief period of lone power when Brexit was dominating the agenda.

****ing evil Tory *******s, screwing the students to pay their friends!

Yay for Labour for saying they will cancel them when they have no way of funding it, or any chance of gaining power!!! Yay Labour :tosser:

Not so sure that is correct in every instance. Giving free study for a degree in David Beckham before the proud recipient swans off to Nepal to knit ear covers for elephants in a gap year to find themselves.

So glad you're back, the pkace has been dull without you. Talking of making up stuff, has Dunk and Stephens left yet?

Seriously, two brickies in this morning, both tories, one even reads the Mail, both couldnt believe that May had signed up the DUP, after they saw the Mirrors headline. Bloke who comes in everyday, don't know what he does for a job, but he told me he always votes tory, and he said he hopes they implode, cos of this shoddy little deal, and, my brother in law, brexiteer, Tory to his boots, couldn't believe she had done this deal, when the DUP would never vote for Corbyn over May, reckons its a billion pound of English money, wasted. It may not be what you want to hear, but, there you go.

Just posted mine on the other thread. Tories to win by 40-50. Jezzer to stay leader of Labour. May gone sharpish, possibly due to "ill health" (c.f. Diane Abbot)

And you predicted even more wrong than the other ****ing idiot who brought this up, who got it more wrong than I did!!!

I know you think I am an idiot with my posts, but you only see what you want to see, but when a serious question was asked in a thread dedicated to predictions, I got the answer closer than you did.

Do you do see that mocking someone for getting a result incorrect, when you yourself was even further incorrect, makes you look a bit of bell end to anyone reading your posts!?!?!

Oh, its taken you two posts to bring up something for the XXth time, when you cannot prove nothing happened, and have had it explained to you over and over again. Poor show even by your low standards.

Why explain that other crap to me? Do you think I believe you? Do you think I give a shit what you heard or who you heard it from?

Of all the people on here, the way you carry on and conduct yourself, you are the lowest of the low in my opinion. But you obviously care what I think of you, as you are trying to explain yourself to me. Seriously you don't need to, I think you're a plum, but felt it funny to show you up for the plum you are.

So you answer your earlier post

Welcome back, still having a whale of a time winding up the lefties are you,

Yes thank you. Am I seem to be doing incredibly well at it! Especially where you are concerned!

That's why I would never make it free. Together with those who drop out after one year, because it's too hard and they don't like it any more. Although I would not be against repaying fees in full for certain subjects when the student passes their final exams.

But free for all is just ridiculous, with the state of the countries finances today. It was just a great way for JC to win votes from the naive.

No, you're far to much fun to ignore you. I enjoy popping along every now and again and poking you with a stick. You amuse me. You sum up the looney left to me with your posts. YOU ONLY SEE WHAT YOU WANT TO SEE.

As Delboy would say. WHAT A PLONKER.

Well, as you won't do it to me, I'm afraid I'm going to have to do it to you. If I want a dose of right wing, infantile, bluster, I'll sign into Katie Hopkins twitter. It's a shamevshe doesn't make up laughable transfer rumours, but, we can't have everything in life.

Even by your standards that's non-sensical bollocks. You literally cannot call people champagne socialists and then claim they join the Tories as soon as they come in to money. Has Lily Allen joined the Tories? Chris Hughton? Stormzy? Guy Garvey?

It'd take a lot more than a small win on the bookies for me to. But without personal revelations or bragging I'm doing just dandy thanks.

My traditional tenner went on a 40-50 Tory lead but if you search back I called a hung parliament before pretty much anyone. You might have finally plumped for 20 seats in the face of the final polls but you spent literally days writing tiresome "you lefties are going to get routed" posts.

See, the right find ways of getting things done.

But its good to see that they have had a month of feeling important, but unfortunately for them, come Friday the will have to get down from their rainbows and get off their unicorns and return the the real world.

I think Tories will win a comfortable majority.

I hope its a Landside that finishes of the Labour Party,

What 50% on here are voting Labour.

I'm a Tory voter and find it ****ing hilarious.

As proven on this thread and various TV debates, the left wing just shout louder, wave their arms around more, and refuse to listen to any view that doesn't fit into their own world. I suppose the poll on here gives the left something to brag and be cheerful about.

Come Friday, when people are away from the hysteria of places like this, the true opinion poll will be published.

I would have thought after the last two major votes in this country, no one would be paying the slightest attention to the latest polls.

:lolol:
