I didn't say the government had ignored the people. You are saying they should.

If we don't leave then they will have.

Call people who disagree with you a "mob" if you want.

A vote wasn't democratic, because you lost.

You're a failure of a person.

You may have had some credence (may have) until the personal insult at the end there. Your mob show yourselves up at every turn.

And the threat of violence on the streets defines your lot as a “mob”.

Well maybe after 2.5 years, we'll finally find out what leave voters voted for tomorrow.

Or maybe not

Dinner seems more important at the moment :bigwave:

*edit* and in case I forgot, if you want Brexit, back TM. (sorry if it's a bit late)

As you believe the EU is more democratic than the UK can you explain how the Greek people vote out the people who imposed such crushing austerity?

https://www.forbes.com/sites/france...-human-cost-of-greeces-bailouts/#1596a3cc4b31

The Greek people voted out their own politicians who got them into such a mess. They elected the party who supported the bailout in 2012.

https://www.nytimes.com/2012/06/18/world/europe/greek-elections.html

As part of the euro, their economy needed sorting out, because they were spending more than they had. Too many public servants being employed and allowed to retire at 55 on full pensions. It was a recipe for disaster.
They were given bailouts in the same way that Britain were given bailouts in the 70s by the IMF (who elects them?) to stop rampant inflation here.

I won't vote for them.

You might as well vote for them if you are intent on reversing leaving the EU, that's what you will effectively be doing.

Don't say I didn't warn you.

Okay, thanks for the warning, I'll try not to have nightmares.

Thanks also for brightening up a depressing January afternoon on here today - reading your posts and warnings such as the above has been just like reading a Melanie Phillips column in The Times if she'd taken Speed before writhing it.

The wonderful world of undemocratic loons where a few polls are more significant than a referendum and a general election (democracy)

Speaking of 'leading in the polls and not narrowly either' (December) Delta Poll - Remain 44 Leave 43, Opinium - Remain 45 Leave 45

If it's the delta poll I've seen, then it was weighted in favour of leave, of those polled, 854 voted leave in the referendum and 787 voted remain. That would suggest a bigger swing to remain from leave voters.

Stupid dementia ridden old fool from Stoke on C4 news voted leave because he hates the French
What all of them, yes all all of them.
Take no notice of him says his missus, but she voted leave but did not understand the question asked to her.
Why were these old fools allowed to vote yet the people who's future we are messing around with were not.

What a fascinating post. There's me -a die-hard tory who thinks that a democracy is for all and there's you, who regularly spouts socialism, who thinks "thick working class people" should not have the vote. You just couldn't make it up, however hard you try.

I think its time all young people turned out to vote so this type of thing becomes the small minority

My argument is (obviously) not that we shouldn't elect our law makers. It's the opposite.

If someone bad gets elected, the you can elect someone good next time around. They are accountable and removable.

The EU Commission are not elected, and they are not removable either.
Sorry to intrude but may I again mention Linda Sanchez? After Brexit, it is agreed that we will be desperate to do some sort of trade deal with the US. Linda, as I recall a senior honcho with the Democrats in the House of Representatives, has said that no such deal will be forthcoming if we don't agree to accept America's murky animal welfare standards. She has influence. We do not elect her and we can't vote her out but as a politician beyond our reach she may have a profound influence on the way we conduct our affairs. There are many more like her.

I'm sorry, but Brexiteers' vision of sovereignty Often comes across as simplistic and childlike.

Thick people shouldn’t be allowed to vote. I don’t care what class they are.

Japan has said we can trade with them after Brexit, providing we allow as many Japanese in as want to come here, with no visa restrictions.

Unfortunately, your post comes over as though you think that your vote and others like you, should be worth more than people's votes that you don't agree with.

Take it as you will. The fact remains that every government of this country depends upon a few floating voters in a hundred or so seats.

If voting is to be allowed to young people, the Govt better make sure they reduce the age for smoking and drinking too.

If you can be trusted to vote you can be trusted to smoke fags and have a beer...........
