There's no middle ground then? We couldn't just enforce the law and deal with situations properly without fear of being labelled racist, we now have to accuse all Asian men of being paedos?

Asian gangs. Vulnerable children. Gang rapes. Grooming. Child abuse.

There's a middle ground????

Normally try to avoid these types of threads, but I feel this needs to be said (apologies if it has been mentioned, not read every page).

This is the result of many factors.
1) Over zealous political correctness; reason being is that there was fear from within the appropriate and omitting authorities of being branded as racist for tackling an issue that's apparent within a single ethnic minority community.
2) Segregated and divided communities by failed multiculturalist policies; we don't live in a multicultural society which is intertwined and benefits one another. What we have is a society which has multiple cultures all separated and with no real communication between them.
3) A country that's branded racist and xenophobic at any opportunity; we're told that any criticism of another race, religion or culture is racist. This is taught from a very young age, tolerance is one thing, but being told you HAVE to tolerate every aspect is another. This aspect is very similar to 1).
4) Backward belief systems of South-East Asia; Rape is very, very common in places like Pakistan and India. In many aspects of these communities, anyone screaming rape is just seen as a promiscuous teenager and treated as such which holds very harsh sentences.

The reality is, you have a recipe for disaster. It's almost as though the Pakistani community in this context knows they're shielded by these facts and therefore makes them untouchable. Any perking up, it becomes a race issue, authorities' heads pipe down to save their own career and it goes back to normal. We have a serious issue regarding community relationships now, trust in these communities is already low, what about now? Unfortunately, we're reaping what we've sowed and these children are the immediate victims. When a section of society is immune to criticism, they can behave and act accordingly or at their own will, which is what we saw. This is not isolated, this is a nationwide problem. What makes this worse is that white girls are being targeted, therefore, making this an entirely racial crime. However, those seeking justice will be called racist (as already in this thread) for making suggestions for ways to tackle this issue.

As others have pointed out, had this been a white gang grooming Asian girls, there'd be riots, tabloids screaming racist gangs etc. The reverse just sees the a minute similarity. The naming of the ethnic group is a start, because as a society we need to remove these barbaric belief systems and install our own. This is a Western Liberal Democracy. We should therefore be promoting our very own belief systems rather than catering for others', and we really shouldn't shy away from telling other religious/ethnic groups that what they do, we believe is wrong and incompatible with our belief structure etc.

But until we do that, unfortunately this epidemic will continue as many know they'll get away with it.

No, read post 212 or are you deliberately trying to be obtuse. You keep posting "Asian" when it is quite clear that these and the other cases and those yet to come out involve the same culture. Just name the criminals instead of the continent

Great post.

As I have posted you are totally right but unfortunately the authorities are either brainwashed pc brigade, vote catchers, unwilling to grasp the issue or even worse as has been exposed at it themselves.

Whilst Labour heartlands tend to be in these areas it comes as no surprise that they fail to deal with the serious issues within their communities. Even the now disgraced former MP (imprisoned for expense fraud) admits he failed to act giving the excuse of being and I quote a “Guardian reader, and liberal leftie”. It beggars belief but there will be plenty of his ilk nodding and accepting of his weak leadership.

Dangerous ground, because that'll require obvious racial profiling. The police already get plenty of stick for 'racial profiling' as it is. I cannot see a simple, non-detrimental approach to community relations. It's what's required, the major issue though is how do we respond to what will inevitably be a hostile community. What's obvious though, is that the Pakistani community will struggle to repair its image, however, I doubt it'll accept the obvious responsibility that lies upon it.

no. why would you want to conflate two entirely seperate problems? i heard a local community leader acknowledge the links with in race and culture/religion, so lets accept this.

Because they are not entirely seperate problems, it's the identical problem of child abuse.

The root cause is not race but a huge culture of sexual violence against females in this country, and that's a massive problem across all communities, as shown by the stats on sexual offenders in this country, of which 71 per cent are white and 8.5 per cent are Asian. It appears in a unique forms in various communities and here race can be an aggravating factor but the root cause is the same, male sexual violence and entitlement. We actually need more of what is usually dismissed as "political correctness", ie. feminist critiques of how our institutions empower abusers - to properly counter the widespread rape culture in this country.

Ok - I'll try and give this a serious answer. In many ways we do live in a post-racial society - mixed race relationships are now commonplace and Asians are integrating rapidly by marrying and having kids with whites, have done for years now. This is not an exception, it's very common.

My aunt has gone out with an Asian guy for about 20 years. He is a doting grandfather to his white teenage granddaughters. He doesn't deserved to be looked on by you with "great suspicion" - he is with his family.

Another strange post. You start off talking about child abuse but then provide statistics about attacks on females in general.

The usual smearing ludicrous type of sweeping statement used to try to stifle sensible debate about this type of issue. You Sir are part of the problem.

I've just explained how dumb racial profiling doesn't work. Racism isn't sensible debate

The emphasis is on children. They are children - regardless of colour - that need protecting from peadophiles - regardless of who is doing it. I am certainly not talking about making the type of assumptions you somehow arrive at.

This is how I arrived at it

The original quote was "stop Asian guys from associating with white girls (children)"

Keaton suggested it was racist to stop asian guys associating with white girls. (post #200)

You then correct him and add (children) to the end of the quote. (post #201)

Keaton then says it is still racist (post #203)

Your response was "It is not racist to stop paedophiles associating with children" (post #205)

His dropping of "(children)" from the quote isn't what makes it racist. It's not a case where stopping asian men interacting with children is fine, but stopping them interacting with girls is racist. The suggestion that all asian men should be stopped from interacting with children because we need to stop paedophiles is what causes it to have a racist bent.

Do you see how I make that assumption that you are saying that when you follow the conversation? You have responded to claims that it is still racist to "stop Asian guys from associating with white girls" when you add " (children)" to the end of it, with "It is not racist to stop paedophiles associating with children".

Great lets use statistics which don't show the true picture. The ethnic breakdown Census 2011 shows white as 87.1% Asian (Total inc British born) 6.9% Therefore from your stats to the ones I've shown Asians commit more sexual violence per capita of each ethnic group.

Less than 1.3 million declare themselves mixed race of which approx 35% are Asian + Another. So about 500 000 in a population of 62 million 0.8%.

The case is talking about one section of the Asian peoples which I would tend to say has a lot less integration. So in reality whilst I certainly don't disagree its happening I would hazard a guess it's not rapid!

Send two and fourpence we are going to a dance.

Let's say that if there are under age girls surrounded by a group of Asian men as a Rotherham taxi rank (as per Rotherham locals on the BBC news last night) there should be questions asked by the relevant authorities - and they should not be concerned as to whether that appears racist.
