Pride is a feeling that is derived from a personal achievement.

By stating you feel proud about being straight is suggesting that the alternatives are inferior in some way, as if you have achieved something just by not being gay.

This differs from "gay pride" in that LGBT's really do have something to be proud of due to having to constantly deal with homophobic attitudes throughout their lives.

i have personally received hetrophobic abuse...am i allowed to be proud?

And hopefully this would still apply if they were staying over at yours in YOUR spare bedroom/sleeping together on a pull-out sofa in your living room...

It hasnt been a problem in the past, when sharing a flat with two straight people and one gay bloke (not uncommon in Brighton, believe it or not). Its really not something that bothers me, and find it weird why somebody would care what other people do in private.
