Although the transfer window shuts at 5pm today in England, Premier League clubs are still able to sell and loan players abroad until the European window shuts on August 31.

With changes to squads certain to extend past today's deadline, the Premier League will publish each club's 25-man squad list on September 1.
So if we initially leave, for instance, Suttner out of out squad (because he would be the 18th non-HGP) but then we sell or loan out Hemed or the Greyhound in the next couple of weeks, can we put him back in the squad?

I guess he's saying we don't have to name the squad, and therefore all 18 non-HGP could play a game before September 1st - after that date we have to fix it.

It has always been September 1st, but transfer window used to close August 31st, so I'm a little surprised if they haven't brought it forward this year, but I guess if we are able to sell then we can replace. It is an interesting move getting an 18th because it does allow room to manouevre if one suffers a long-term injury

Clubs are required to submit their 25-man squad list of registered players to the Premier League tomorrow - a day after the transfer window slams shut.

But, in special circumstances, clubs can request changes with the permission of the Premier League Board

So basically it's today, but can be changed with permission up to Sept 1st.

Makes sense.

An absolutely incredible piece of business considering absurd transfer fees for bang average players now.

Montoya was second choice and after a recent signing possibly third choice for Valencia whose coach had lost trust in him, hopefully it's a good piece of business for us but it's certainly good business for Valencia who signed him as a free agent two years ago.

Did he take over from Bruno at Valencia so perhaps do the same here. From what has been said that if a player received a serious long term injury at Watford or in the next couple of weeks they could possibly be replaced but would that have to be from existing registered players or could an out of contract free agent be signed. The main areas of concern would be GK and CB.a we could cover all other positions.

A Madrid-based friend of mine who is a long-distance Albion fan reckons he's the logical replacement for Bruno - attack-minded and technically very good. Can't believe what a bargain we've got.

No he didn’t replace Bruno, he only joined Valencia In 2016, 4 years after Bruno joined us.

Someone has already posted that Premier League clubs are apparently no longer allowed to sign free agents outside of the window. How true that is I don’t know. It appears we can make changes to the 25 up to Sept 1st with permission of the Premier League but only with players already registered to us.

How is GK a concern if Ryan got injured? We have 3 first team keepers in the squad?!

You can get emergency loans for goalkeepers anyway

The enigma of MM.

Some silky skills and creativity when near the opposition box.

Unable to defend and lacking pace when defending, RB is still our weakness. Redmond had the better of him yet again, last week Lanzini. It’s leading to goals conceded.

Be interesting to see if GP reacts as the season progresses.

To be fair, he didnt get a lot of help with cover. If you are wing back and you gallop forward, somebody needs to cover you.
Personally, I can see Webster starting for Duffy next week

I was thinking the same thing.

Duffy and Montoya are so obviously targeted by opposition coaches. Last season and now WHU/Stains.

Whereas March and his LW partner are pretty solid.
